Bitcoins

You don't really need anything for storing. Unless you are planning on keeping a stash of the things. Mining I can't help you with and apparently it's all but pointless now.

Otherwise, all you do is set up an account on bitbargain.co.uk and use that to buy bitcoins. Then they'll transfer into your bitbargain wallet, but they stress that you only use that to temporary hold them, so you bounce them straight to your account with SR. At which point you can spend them. Assuming that's where you want to spend them.

You're not daft man, as soon as you start looking into this it should all become pretty obvious what you do/how it works.

Im a dafty and I can figure it out no bother.

If we're talking about a certain site... does it really matter as the price of product is fixed to the fluctuation in coin prices?

Sorry if I'm missing something as I haven't read the whole tread. Maybe if your into that mining lark it might make a difference?

Exactly what I, and a few others, have been saying. It doesn't matter if the price of 1 coin is £1 or £1m. As long as the price of the product is linked to the exchange rate and you spend them immediately it makes no difference.

Anyone try that satoshidice? (btc game), i accident spent a bit on it and got nothing back, any idea how it works?

I accidentally put 3 0.01 bets on 50% odds, and they paid me back 2x 0.0000546BTC, confusing!

mining it is nigh on impossible right now if i remember things right.... even the suppliers of the ahrdware for that are behind on the complexity its now gotten to. not worth it for the common man

mining is fairly easy to get going in the most simplistic fashion but the best programs will allow you to tweak settings to improve your hash rate. Its all about GPU though, and which coin to mine.

GuiMiner is simpler to set up but you will get more control of your settings and a higher hash rate using either reaper or cgminer

I use cgminer because, well I dont really remember why I chose it to be honest but its pretty much the best software for customizing your miner.

dont mine straight Bitcoins, mine alt coins and trade them for bitcoins

There's fairly decent mining hardware out there. I'd say the 'useful' configs start at 3000-3500 euro at the mo. 12K will build you a very efficient rig.

A second hand Avalon ASIC (batch 2) is nice to have and learn the ropes with, can be found for 1000-1200, with the current rate it'll net 1000 euro per month:

It's all here: https://bitcointalk.org/

Laughing out loud. Strokes my Butterfly Labs equipment :P

Original consignment lot 104#

I don't think many people would recommend Butterfly Labs anymore after their long history of underdelivering on their claims. What model(s) of theirs do you have? How many of them?

The first guy who got a fuck off big mining rig made his money back within a week ($1k+, mighta even been 10k) and this was months back, he must be minted now! I think its a bit late to join the action now, loads of people have mining rigs i think. I dont follow the scene too much though, bitcoin = drugs, i cannae afford the electric to mine some virtual shit

If i got all that set up how long would a mid range pc take to mine the equivalent of one bitcoin ?
