Since that post I am now the proud owner 0f uno bitcoin. Cost me £118 right with fees & shit so I probably got ripped off. Was meant to be a test purchase of £10 worth but the minimum was 1 coin & by that point I just thought fuck it.

Used this site https://bitbargain.co.uk/ - & the Barclays ping-it app which I'd previously installed on my phone but never got round to using. Actually quite a handy app if you want to transfer money to your mates bank on a night out or something without having to bother getting into a drunken conversation with the telephone banking bird.

Quick question. How come people aren't getting ripped off when they buy stuff with bitcoins? Say you ordered 6 strawberry scones and they sent raspberry and you don't like raspberry? Or are people getting ripped off?

The money sits in escrow after you make a payment. Once you receive your shit you finalise the payment.

Ok, cheers. So how does it work the other way around? If you're the seller, send off legit stuff and the buyer receives but never pays? Say he says nah, never got it mate? Or always says quality was shit or whatever?

If you do it all anonymously, where do I 'send the boys round' to?

Hmmm...very good point. They better be fresh for that money if using non freeze dried rasberries as when fresh fruit is cooked into a scone they perish. Straberries are a very delicate fruit for scones.

Imagine if you will (complete hypothetical situation here of course) you bought LSD and you received one of the fucking nbomb shite? Not that that is possible of course bitcoin or no. In my case at the moment no. Bitcoins or LSD. I don't want nbombs so I'm not all that bothered by my distinct lack of them.

Sellers have a feedback system as per ebay. hOWEVER GOOD FEEDBACK CAN BE PURCHASED AT AT A PRICE (AS IT CAN ON EBAY)

Selling works much like ebay or Amazon feedback.

You're more than welcome as a shady dealer to rip your customers off but if you want repeat custom over a long period of time then having a load of comments on your selling page like "never received items" aint going to help.

you guys are asking all these questions about how it works and you are basically describing eBay fyi.

back in like mid-november <snip> went down for a few days and anyone who transferred bitcoins to their account on a specific date never got them.

a friend of a friend actually messaged the support account and got a message from whoever was DPR at the time with a statement saying they would cover the missing bitcoins.

half an hour later all was good

people get scammed for sure, but its hard to have 500+ fans and be scamming people.

escrow helps
