Bitcoins

Haha, come to fuck. Someone spell this out easy as a muthafucka. My brain is not in full gear right now to figure this out & I'd rather get it done while I'm in the mood (plus I need another cheeky wee weed order in the mean time).

This. Fucking this. Thank you PTCH.

Of course I shall be using these bitcoins for 100% legit purposes :sus:

Also this. :D

lol, I really don't think this morning is the time to be attempting this :D

Haha, I'm not that bad. Just a bit groggy. Probably won't be attempting it right now, later this afternoon is more likely. Gonna wait on some more replies to this thread first. Just got a couple hundred quid buring a hole in my pocket & I'd rather get in invested in weed for now & a good stash for what looks to be an epic party on the 11th May.

Gonna be the first acid I've had since the original avatars were knocking about a while ago & looks a cracking setting to do it. Sqad of good mates, camping there for the night, decent tunes. Cunts that aren't me driving & this...

In the US you can use bitinstant and send cash via Moneygram to their account at a place like Walmart and by the time you get back to your house the transfer is usually done. However you then have to transfer the coins to wherever you want to spend them and if you want to tumble them that takes extra time too.

as much as btc-e seems like a child's website I found it to be a lot more informative then Mtgox (funny tidbit: the website was originally set up as a place to trade Magic:The Gathering cards via bitcoins I believe, add an Online Exchange to it and you see where mtgox comes from)

There are new challengers to bitcoin as well and to think bitcoin is infallible is a major mistake IMO. Many of these coins actually confirm faster then bitcoins do which leads to more instantaneous transfers (because who doesnt like getting their money / item faster?) The only thing propping bitcoin up is the name and established perceived value because of websites like Silk Road.

But it's only a matter of time before sites are developed for alternate currencies (or maybe it's already happened?) and the playing field is evened, if not downright reversed. How soon this would happen is the tough part, considering it only took bitcoins a span of about 2-3 months to jump almost 10 fold. So who's to say it can't drop that amount or at least half in the same time span?

Very interesting developments going on, reminds me of format wars almost (like HD-DVD v Blu Ray, VHS v Betamax, etc)

I wouldn't keep any substantial amount of funds in either of those websites though

Going to Kelburn PTCH?

I think its quite simple to go into barclays and ask for a bit coin purcahse form, it wont even be traced back to your bank a/c then if you pay with cash.

Once youve done that though, im not sure what yos do next as you'll have to deposit them with some BC merchant or just chuck em straight onto that sexy smooth highway to turn them into virtual money..

Or you can do a direct bank transfer from your bank a/c to intersango (i think this is the only existing UK BC trader). It takes 2 weeks for the money to process IIRC. The USA ones wont accept your money.

Those seemed the 2 easiest options to me.

i bet someone has tried to sell some on ebay. Was probably a scammer.

There are loads of folk selling them on ebay. Are you telling me they are scammers? Oh ffs. Thanks mate.

For me it boils down to this:

How do I buy one using my credit/debit card?

Please?

This again.

Please?

^^ Ebay is legit.

Bought off there before. Remember they have a feedback system. ;)

The downside is you have to pay extra. (In my case I ended up profiting out of sheer luck) prob wouldn't risk it now tho.

Hang on what?

You wouldn't risk it for making a profit or risk being scammed?

Help.:?

Can't be arsed to read the whole thread, but has anyone mentioned localbitcoins.com? I think some of the more business-y sellers on there might take cards. They handle bank transfers pretty efficiently, or so I've heard. (Or cash if you're so inclined, but that concept messes with my brain somewhat.)

Oooo, I didn't know that! Huh.

Going to Kelburn PTCH?

I am indeed. Some trippy forest rave thing. Not too sure about the line-up but the venue is class & there's apparently a good team of us going.

I think its quite simple to go into barclays and ask for a bit coin purcahse form, it wont even be traced back to your bank a/c then if you pay with cash.

I don't want to go in to a bank. I don't want to leave this room. I also don't want to wait 2 weeks. Any other options??? Security is not a priority.

you can link your bank account (sort of like using a debit card) to a website like mtgox but that kind of kills the anonymous factor and they are so backed up with transfers right now it could take longer than you'd like.

I would be very surprised if you can buy them with a credit card, short of on ebay (as in, no website that is solely there to sell bitcoins will sell you them via credit card).

the only way to get them while still being a shut-in would be to mine them.

or find someone to give you a loan and play the market I guess, but gl with that
