bit of valium advice needed.

I just took 30mg of valium, I was prescribed 10mg pills but they seemed to do nothing, I have almost run out and don't think I will re fill the script.

I am very inexperienced with benzos.

The script was intended to release and relieve muscle spasms in my back and it has done that, but there are no headspace changes on 10mgs.

So just to see if I could get a noticeable effect I upped the dose tonight.

Is 30mg ok, what should be the effects I can expect from this dose.

Will adding 120mg of straight codine to the mix do any harm ?

I have a pretty high codine tolerance, (daily useage of 240gm is my usual fix lately.

Just want to double check in the interests of harm minimization.

Any advice will be greatly received.

If you have no tolerance, 30mg will produce some significant effects. You should be feeling very relaxed and at ease.
120mg codeine is a rather low dose and I see no real reason to add it. It will certainly not do any harm though.

thanks heaps, i did add the codine, about 10 minutes after i took the valium.

maybe i am being over cautious but my instinct told me to just double check with BL.

that amount of codeine with 30mg diazepam isn't dangerous...

a better muscle relaxer is carisprodol(soma) or meprobamate(equanil/milltown)

I use Valium for anxiety but I think it blows. I have a high tolerance to most drugs and Valium does very little for me. Yesterday was a bad day so I knocked back 70mg of Valium (7-10mg pills), and the only thing that happened was it made me sleepy.

You'd have to use an EXTREMELY high dosage of Valium to OD I imagine, and even then the OD would only consist of passing out and sleeping for 15 hours.

I think Valium is a decent benzo. Not one of my favorites, I prefer Klonopin but it still gets the job done at higher doses. (80mg or more). For a beginner 30-40mg should get the job done. Taking 120mg of Codeine should be fine.
