Bipolar and mdma

My best friend is thinking about rolling this weekend.
He is bipolar and does have manic phases I suppose.
I know him very well. I am schizophrenic and I can handle mdma just as fine
As anyone else can. I am still uncertain though because these are different disorders.
Will he be ok on mdma? Even if I was there to talk him through it and communicate
With him like bo other friends communicate? If yes or no, why? And for what reasons?
What is the worst that can happen?
 
Is he on any medication for his condition that might interact with the MDMA, that would be my first question.

There is no way of telling how any individual may react to any chemical, psychoactive active or otherwise let alone someone with a diagnosed mental illness.
 
I know he is on medication and no, I don't know what it
actually is. All I know is that he takes xanax and an antipsycotic that alters dopamine
in some way. Excuse me for my lack of elaboration.

I also understand that anyone could react negatively or positively to anything.
Like I said, I know my best friend well and I would just imagine he would
be just fine. Like it can change his life in positive ways, rather then freaking out and having
An episode. But I am no expert on this situation in all reality.
 
You check what medication he is taking as it may interact with the MDMA, one of the main things you need to be concerned about purely from a drug interaction perspective is :-

Serotonin Syndrome

I say you really I mean the individual taking the MDMA, but I'm sure you don't want them to come to any harm so before even considering using MDMA the other drugs the user is taking need to be taken into account.
 
True man, if he has an anti-psychotic which works on the serotonin or both the serotonin and dopamine receptors, he needs to be careful. Because as atm23 suggested above, you do run the risk of Serotonin Syndrome.

though a lot of the time, if it effects only the dopamine receptors, he might not even roll at all and feel nothing. Which would be a waste of a roll. Ruining his night, as you will be euphoric and he won't.

Either way I wouldn't advise it.

Not to mention the comedown aspect, which if he has bi-polar could make it quite severe for a few days.
 
Honestly, I could say what medication he is on and we could talk about reactions
and if it would really be ok or not but if you are saying there is a risk
anyway then I wouldnt want him to do so. The answers you have given me are all I needed
to hear and thank you. It is much appreciated.
I'd rather be on the safer side of course and I would never want to
put my best friend in harms way.
