I stopped by a local head shop the other day to pick up some coals for my hookah and decided to browse the bongs while I was there. I'm hoping to move out from my parents' house soon for school and one of the first large investments I would like to make is in a good glass bong. While going through them, I came across a few Barbie sized bongs--approximately 2.5 inches in height with the tiniest pull-carbs I've ever seen. I ended up leaving with just my coals that day, but returned a couple of days later to purchase one of those tiny bongs or "bings"; they were just too cute to pass up.

I wasn't sure whether or not I would actually use it to smoke with, but of course had to try it at least once before I knocked the idea. It surprisingly hits really well, and I can get 2 or 3 good sized hits off of it. It feels like a pipe, with the exception of the water in the base and the pull-carb. I've decided that I prefer using it over my pipe because it hits smoother, there seems to be less smell, and I conserve more weed because the bowl is so small. Now I really can't wait to get my first bong when I move out.

Has anyone else seen these "bings" or smoked out of one? I've only ever seen them at this one head shop, so I'm not sure how common they are.
 
A buddy of mine has a toro mini, I'm not sure which one it is exactly but it's a lot better for oil / concentrates than a big bong I've noticed. They're a lot easier to clear, and that's pretty helpful considering you don't have to try and pull it all up a 2 foot tube while there's a hot nail/dome attached messing up the suction power you need.

I haven't smoked any flowers out of it, but I'm sure that you benefit pretty much in the same way being able to clear it a lot easier. Tons of top end glass brands make rigs like this, so it's not too uncommon but I think it's a lot more preferred for concentrate smokers. I've never heard the term "bing" though, that's something new to me lol. I think the smoke would be a lot hotter with straight flowers so maybe it's more harsh, but definitely a nice step up from a dry pipe.
 
Oh crazy, yes I can see how something of a smaller size would be much easier for oil. It definitely is a nice step up, especially considering the fact that I wasn't even sure if I was going to be using this piece for decoration or to smoke out of when I purchased it.
 
I've seen small ones but never one 2.5" tall. How much did they cost? I might have a look in a headshop I go to in a different town and buy one if their cheap. Would be handy if they were small enough to carry in your pocket.

Well, I intend on dropping at least $150 on it, and while that may not seem too large, I will officially be a broke college student when living on my own. Unfortunately I can't ask mommy and daddy to donate some funds for this specific cause. ;)

In all honesty, it cost more than I wanted to pay for it...but that's only because I wasn't sure whether or not I was actually going to use it. It came out to be [no price discussion - chainer], so it's relatively cheap. I wouldn't recommend carrying it around in your pocket or traveling with it though, the glass is very thin and most likely wouldn't survive a fall. But still, I'd say they're worth checking out with such a low price tag!

Smallest bong my wife and myself own is a 12" tall one HOWEVER I have a bubbler of about 3" that doesn't have a removable bowl, does yous have a removable bowl?
 
In a shop near my house they used to sell tiny, cheap bongs which was little more than a four-sided piece of clear plastic as the body (with a small hole on it) on another piece of red plastic for a base.
 
Woah just looked at the picture I had no idea it was THAT small haha that's pretty tight man. I thought you were talking about something like 3-4x that size but wow I've never seen something like that, looks cool for novelty. Do you get a lot of water on your lips? Probably gotta pull pretty lightly on it I'm guessing

No, I don't. The picture shows water in the stem because I had just cleaned it not too long before I took the picture. I have only had water splash onto my lips about two or three times and I've smoked out of it several times a day since I got it. The only downside to something so small is that it gets dirty with resin quick, so I rinse it out every time I load a bowl.

And I know haha, it's hard to imagine one THAT small. It's smaller than my lighter!
 
I would recommend getting a Weedstar bong, they are quite cheap but still offer all the hightech shizzle like percolators, diffusors etc.
The marketing methods might seem fishy but they are absolutely worth their money. I can recommend you the Mad Professor in particular because of its relative small size and easy drag.
Best/worst decision of my life to get a quality bong

Just looked at their website, those are crazy cheap. I'll definitely keep it in mind, but they didn't really have what I was looking for on there. Basically, I want a bong for at home use. This is not a piece that I will be taking places, I have a pipe for that. The farthest it will travel is most likely across my home but that's it.
 
Yep I use my bong the same way, i never would risk taking my glassgoddess out, only imagine what could happen to her ? so you are looking for a solid big piece right ? you could go with the big black perc 2.0

79cms height should be enough i guess ?

my friend keeps one of these in his car, it's pretty cool. never heard them called bings though, lol that's pretty catchy.
