What are some of the biggest misconceptions about ecstasy that you have heard?

Addictive is probably that biggest one.
 
I love conversation I had before.

"I do ecstasy."
"OMG! ARE YOU ADDICTED!? :("
"No..."
"... really? are you sure? :("

The effects on the body- before I tried MDMA, I was turned off by stories that it "drains your spinal fluid!"....also, the concept of it giving you endless amounts of energy and being extremely stimulating- I think if e was purely a stimulant, it wouldn't have nearly the appeal.
 
Oh oh! That E makes you uncontrollably horny and all you want to do is have sex but you CANT have sex because OMG if you do it's the best thing ever and you will NEVER WANT TO HAVE NORMAL SEX AGAIN. Pft

I especially love explaining the "stacked" bs to people- I have friends that get so excited because they have "quadstacked whatevers" and take them to realize it's no stronger or intense than any other size pill...size misconceptions are probably worse than colour misconceptions lol

Thats the one I always heard when growing up aswell, I think it was mainly spread through that Eminem track ;P

Alot of people from the UK probably had the 'Mr. Betts' story whilst in school. Dude who goes round schools telling everybody how his daughter died from taking one E.. I remember his tale of how his daughter was offerred a pill on her 18th birthday party, then 30 mins later she was screaming her lungs out in horrific pain, feeling like 'her brain was going to burst through her skull' then died.
 
yer i still tell my mate that the colour doesnt determine what goes into it. he is still adament the stupid bastard.
the msot rediculous one i ever heard is "if you take E it can make ur heart really big and it explodes". i say "ok,ok where the hell do u hear this shit from".

i dont get the logic to why people think heroin is in their pills. one it would cost fucking loads and 2, you jsut wouldnt want heroin in your fucking pill what would be the point.

That's a good one. I wish more people knew that they study was totally discredited.

I would say that a big misconseption is that mdma is totally harmless. The truth is that we just don't know. Of course the pendulum swings both ways, people who say how damaging mdma can be may also be incorrect. There just isn't enough research out there. And then there is the issue of poly drug use, most people who do drugs don't do just one. How do you know your problems are a result of the mdma alone rather than the other drugs you took?

We need more information and our governments need to fucking wake up and realize that "their way" is not working. The "war on drugs" is a complete waste of taxpayer dollars and doesn't protect anyone, it just hurts people. But that's a discussion for another thread :)
 
You are always happy and in a good mood on MDMA.

I've seen people calm, quietly angry, and depressed on MDMA.

To be fair, she did die after taking only one pill (though of course the actual cause of death was drinking too much, more than the drug itself). The real lesson should have been 'don't drink gallons of water after taking MDMA'.
 
I don't see one of the hundreds of thousands of people who have relatives who have died from alcohol/tobacco going around schools telling scare stories.

Most of the big misconceptions have been covered already. A big one around here (not sure if people say this in other areas) is that MDMA and E are like 2 different drugs. "Oh you took those pills? I heard those were E. E is sketch I only do MDMA". Like wtf?
