big painful bruise on my beloveds forearm

Please advise, very concerned, my gf had a friend "help" her plug her meth shot and the friend didn't STOP when beloved told her it was burning. Result is BAD BIG bruise and pretty significant swelling with very painful sensitivity to skin contact on her forearm. What should/can we do to help her? Anyone know if she should seek medical attention?! Really just can't so any advice would be greatly helpful. Using heating pad now....
