(The reason I'm putting this post here is because I tend to subscribe to the idea that religion is the opiate of the masses, and thus making the bible, drug paraphenalia).
Anyways, a little story...
The other day I had to get up at like 5 in the morning to run some errands for my mom. Well, I had been up for a few days prior to that and had finally fallen asleep that night at like 3 am. I was NOT fucking happy to get up, but it's my mom, so I had to. Well, I was already cranky as shit and I didn't want to do any more meth at all, but...I at least needed a joint to make that morning tolerable...
Of course, sure enough, I wake up and just before I am set to leave I go to roll a joint, and I am totally out of papers, not one anywhere in the whole house...
Well, in the past, when the topic has come up, I have been told Bible Paper is actually the best substitute for real papers. Specifically Bible Paper. Well like any decent person I have several Bibles I've stolen from hotels, you know, just to chuck at stuff or quote creepy passages from. So I find one, tear out the fly page (The pages at the beginning and end with NO ink or print on them at all) and start to roll a joint.
(Btw, I used a piece of the Bible paper about the same dimensions as a Djarum Bali Hai paper if anyone uses those, they are very small papers)
Well, the paper actually rolled quite well and since there was no glue, I just used a bit of extra spit and let it sit a little while to dry. It ended up a perfect joint. Well on the road I sparked it up, and believe it or not, I was pleasantly surprised to say the least...
Not only did the whole procedure of rolling a joint run really smoothly, in my opinion was using the Bible paper was actually BETTER than regular rolling papers. (And I have tried pretty much every kind in the world from when I used to work at a head shop).
The paper burned real slow and wasn't harsh at all to smoke. Also, mid way through for the tiniest bit I noticed the paper almost had a hint of pleasant banana flavor. At the very very end of the joint, the paper did finally start to come apart, but I figured enough people exploit Jesus every day, so I didn't need to anymore, and I tossed the roach out the window...
Well I don't know if anyone can answer my question or not, but I was curious if Bible paper is treated in any way with chemicals and in general harmful to smoke?
I know some books are treated with chemicals designed to preserve the paper and increase longevity, but is this a standard practice, and if so, how harmful are those chemicals to smoke?
In the end, I can attest to the fact that if you do, unfortunatley find yourself out of rolling papers, make religion useful for something and rip a page out of the Bible, it really works wonders...

I think bible paper is ok to smoke...
That's what I have heard but they are from 21 year old highschool dumbshit dropouts who once told me they had 250mg hydrocodone pills
Heh

har har har. funny post, brainrape. i'll chime in b4 this gets moved to psychedelics. my guess is that it won't kill you. holy stoned.
"yo, my mad phat krippy indo is like, biblical, dude."
probably a lot less crap in bible paper then railing some shards up the old schnozz.
as an aside, i've come to enjoy your writing lately. it's is funny and helpful. keep up the good work.

Next time you go to a rave party in another area, and you're staying at a hotel, check page 420 in any bible - MOST will have it removedby nutty pot heads that spent the last of they money on e-bean-pies and ThReE-CoLoR-GlOw-NeCkLaCeS, so when they need to roll a "spiff" (spliff?) the next morning (and forgot their "6 foot graphix that hit like a motherfucking train") they will turn to the bible, and of course what makes more sense - an INKLESS PAGE atthe frontof the bible, or page 420? OF COURSE! Page 420, packed with inky-goodness.. it like, says "420" man!
I like this post! ANYTIME you can find a way to bash religion, you MUST DO IT! See, religion is for the weak, and they are easily offended - I am willing to bet a number of candy-ass bitches reply to this with silly hatefull comments... what lamers!
But alas, this must be moved over to psychedelic durgs, and I will do that now..
