i thought this was not advised w/tram because it bypasses "first pass metabolism" in liver - the one that creates the "good stuff"- same w/soma - thoughts???????
It does bypass first-pass metabolism, but it will still reach the liver and be metabolised, it will just take a bit longer.

this , bioavailability of tramadol is 77.0% rectal, 68-72% oral (increases with repeated dosing). Wikipedia agrees
