It doesn't matter whether you salivate. In fact, you are pretty much guaranteed to salivate. That's not really the point. The point is to swish it all around your mouth thoroughly for as long as possible. I would recommend at least 30 minutes.

Try to brush your teeth or give your mouth a rinse before your dose. That will maximize absorption of the drug across the mucous membranes.

By the way, if you are dosing [powder then I hope you have a microgram analytical balance (not milligram). If you do not, then you should be dosing by measuring it in liquid, such as water or vodka.

That tiny bit of dust would probably dose 5 people...

I used a solution of 4-5ml/500ug and it worked fine, even for insufflation. If you're working with a small amount use distilled water and an oral syringe for accurate dosing.
