Best time to take suboxone to detox?

First, if there is something wrong with this thread to the point it will get deleted, can someone tell me why? I posted in the main "other drugs" forum, the same thing as below, and it's gone. Can anyone tell me why?

I normally take my last dose of herion around 8 PM. I'll wake up around 11 AM, and while I'm not under the influence anymore, I am still far from being sick. Within the the next couple of hours, I get slightly uncomfortable, but still no where near withdrawl. Wanting to get it started with, I'll take the suboxone around noon/1 PM. While it is nothing compared to stopping cold turkey, I still feel pretty crappy. I know that suboxone is a partial antagonist and that taking it too quickly will put you into withdrawl, but I'm wondering if waiting longer will make for an easier detox. Is there a best time to take it to start to detox? Would waiting until I'm really feeling bad make that much of a difference? Thanks!

Hi, I looked for your thread in OD but I couldn't find any trace of it anywhere...I'm sure it was simply a glitch in the system or something and was not removed as far as I know.

The best way to avoid precipitated withdrawals when planning on taking suboxone after you have used a regular full agonist, is to wait until you are in 'moderate' withdrawal, and 100% sure you are in 'moderate' withdrawal. It's best not to take any chances and tough it out as precipitated withdrawals are something to be avoided at all costs, IMO.

I'd say wait 18 - 24 hours. By then, you should be in withdrawal. Dosing your bupe too early will throw you into precipitated withdrawal and that is extremely unpleasant. After 18 -24 hours you should be able to dose your bupe, but not everyone is the same. Just wait until you are withdrawing. I try to wait until I really can't stand it anymore and I am fine. Good luck.

just because it is a partial agonist doesnt mean it will not be effective at taking withdrawls completely away from whatever opiate your using. my understanding is it wont provide full opiate "euphoric effects" as its a "partial" agonist as all other opiates/opioids are full agonists. believe me Suboxone can make u feel like a million bucks if taken when in heroin withdrawl, etc..

I'd suggest waiting as long as you can to take it. I think you'll be glad you did. Wait at least, or ... just wait for as close to the 24 hour mark as you can.

Oxide woamative nailed it really - you need to be sure you are in withdrawals, and not just hm I don't feel 100%, definite WDs before you take it. 24 hours plus however long you can hold out sounds realistic.

First off, thank you for all the replies. I usually only post on a video game website where it's mostly kids, and I forgot what it's like to talk to adults who actaully try help out. Wow, it's nice.

I am curious, if anyone knows, or could know, like...let's say I do take it too early. Would it make the entire 3 days of detoxing worse? (It’s usually the 4th day I start feeling much better, like if I started on Friday 9 AM, when I got up on Monday morning 9 AM I feel better.) Or would it just make it worse in the beginning, until your body adjusted or something? I realize no one may actually know this, because in order to know it, you'd probably have to have tested it out, like purposely take it too early, and who the fuck would do that? Would a sure fire way of knowing I’m taking it too early be that when it hits, I feel worse then I did before hand? I always think, “here we go” when the suboxone starts to hit, between an hour and two hours after taking it. The first thing that happens is I get this weird tired feeling, like I need to lay down, but not in a comfortable way. I lay down and I may fall asleep, but then I wake up because it feels like it hurts to try to sleep.

My deal is, I always plan my detoxing, where I try to get 3 days in a row where no one can bother me and I have to get back to work. I think, “I might as well get this started with”, but I may be approaching it wrong. Like, let’s say I follow my normal plan and take it 9 AM when I don’t feel that bad, because I know in 3 days, I’m going to have to get to work, so I want to start detoxing as soon as possible. Or is it that even if I didn’t take the suboxone, I would have felt better in 3 days anyway? Or better yet, if I took it on the second day, like Saturday 9 AM, would I still feel better on Monday regardless? I have it my head it’s 3 days of when I take the suboxone, not after my last dose of H.

The thing is, I am moving across the country tomorrow, but I am still keeping my job, just telecommuting, so even though I don’t have to go in the office, I still have to work on Monday, which will be the second day for me. I have never had this much responsibility during a detox in the decade I’ve been hitting the smack and I’d like to feel as good as possible.

Any info would be greatly appreciated. I realize I don’t post at all anymore, but I really, really, used to contribute all those years ago. I remember when bluelight was a one page forum where there was only 500 messages ever on the screen. Anytime someone posted a new response or thread, the last 500th post would get knocked off into oblivion. I love telling that story. It was only for ecstasy and other club related drugs back then. Way the fuck back then.

Yes it will make the enitre 3 days worse. I've pushed my self to 40 hours (usually wait 24-30) and it really made a difference. My transitions from dope to bupe are fucking HORRID rihg tnow. Seriously its 4 days of hell every time I switch no matter ho wlong I wait. It's fucking TERRIBLE
