benzos and z drugs don't make me fall asleep if i take enough to get a high goin on i usually blackout and take all my pills and act like an ass

The major problem for me is that if I take a knock-out dose of zopiclone I dont actually sleep; im wide awake but high as a kite.
This happens even with 45mg of mirtazapine, 300mg pregabalin and 60mg of dihydrocodeine thrown on top.
Diazepam gives me the most natural sleep but it takes crazy doses due to my tolerance and the hangover is awful.
With no tolerance, mirtazapine is a brilliant sleep aid. Even if your withdrawing it still knocks you out.
For desperate emergencies I keep some trazodone in my box of tricks. Anti-cholinergics arent nice but they are effective.
