I've decided to take a break from weed. When ever I try and do this, I end up getting almost no sleep at all. I'm already taking a bunch of nyquil and some sleeping pills tonight, is there anything better?

I recently stopped smoking weed at night. Took me a while to fall asleep during the first few nights, then I got melatonin. 1-3mg an hour or so before bed really helps. I also feel a lot more refreshed in the mornings since I started taking melatonin. Anti-histamines in cold medicine always make the mornings difficult for me.

Where did you get the melatonin, is that OTC?

Valerian root! Best stuff ever! ! !

I took a bunch last night around 1am because I couldn't sleep, and I woke up an hour before my alarm went off this morning (7am) feeling like I'd been asleep for days. It knocks you down into the really deep sleep so your body can repair. Vivid dreams are often a cool side effect of this.

Hi

Might sound funny but if i cant sleep and have to then i put on some Internetradio from DI FM there they have an Amient channel and they play just Music, thats very uiet and the themes dont change very offen.

for me it helps me to sleep instantly.

A small fountain or a white noise machine. Preferably on a timer so it turns off well before waking up. I find I can't get myself up at all if the fountain is still running when it's time to wake up.

hmm well I'm going to walgreens now to see if i can find some melatonin. Hopefully it works well, because ive got a test tomorrow.

klonopin is sure fire but you might develop dependency issues if used every day.

^ i wouldn't suggest any benzo's. They sure do make you go to sleep but waking up is a major problem. I never feel rested at all when i go to sleep on benzo's.

Yep I've also found melatonin to be really helpful altho not so much the ingesting type tablets. In fact to be honest they didn't do much for me at all. Whereas the 1.5mg (and also the 3mg) sublingual allowed me to get relaxed tired, sleepy, and to get a peaceful night's uninterrupted sleep. The type I buy now is fairly quick dissolving and has an "orange" flavour, so isn't so much like chalky gunk under the tongue. Check out health and personal care category shops in sites like amazon and ebay as well as walk-in stores. Hope that helps, mate.

THC is similar to a benzodiazapine. You are having a benzo withdrawl. Seroquel is best sleep aid. It doesn't prevent REM sleep. Try ativan or valium along with it, or both. Xanax is physically addictive.

I know benzos and alcohol affect the brain the same, but I don't think THC does. Could be wrong but I tried to find it online and didn't see anything. Valium and Ativan are both benzos like Xanax though so I wouldn't reccommend those if you are staying away from addictive meds.

Seroquel and Trazadone are the most prescribed non-nacotic prescription meds. However, you can always try melatonin (like everyone said) or an antihistamine like benadryl.

Well I got some melationin, and it worked great the first night. But now where ever I take it i fall asleep fine, but I keep waking up over and over again during the night. I always wake up after a dream too, so it might have something to do with that. I just really want to be able to go to sleep find with out being high. I havent quit cold turkey, I've just been taking 3 or 4 days off during the week. Do you think I should see a doctor, or is this just all in my head..?:X

Ambien plus rozerem.

Other-wise, I found, nothing can compare to healthy lifestyle habits which greatly enforce healthy circadium rhythms. Set schedules, exercise, eating well, emotional support, etc. If you can't do that, than you are not owrthy for sleep.

to help you sleep

yes - melatonin does help.
also i have found that badger sleep balm liberally applied to my lips and hands (i keep my hand near my nose) does help me to fall asleep. also, taking a bath in epsom salts with about 7 drops of lavender oil helps too!

Well I already exercise and eat alright, so I dont know what it could be other than stress knowing I wont be able to sleep tonight.

The idea of relying on drugs for something like sleep isn't attractive to me. Not when white noise works so well. If you google you can probably find some white noise mp3's for free.
