Hello!

What are your favorite psychedelic substances and doses for creative writing? I'm sure it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I often find it quite enjoyable. The key is finding a dose large enough to help you get out of your own way, so that your fingers can do the talking on their own; as if you're just the medium through witch the universe is expressing itself. On the other hand, I like the dose to be small enough such that I can think clearly and follow my own train of thought (go back, edit, etc).

Obviously some substances are better suited than others here. 4-aco-mipt has worked well for me at moderate doses.

Experiences?

my mind is creative on its own.
i can invent stories and create characters and settings without the help of any substance almost instantly when i so desire.
but i find writing boring. so when i want to write a story, what helps me is modafinil, which is a nootropic and not a psychedelic. it makes boring tasks wonderfully easy (i take it when i have to sit all day at the desk waiting for people to get their shit done so i can do *my* work)

right now i could use some because i'm about to fall asleep while filling out a form for someone who doesn't know english very well.

Mescaline would be the best in my experience. Headspace is still sober enough to function well. On psychedelics you might think you have a lot of great ideas but reading the shit you wrote the next day none of it makes sense lol

I think I'm soon to try ALEPH. In the past, psychedelics typically have been a hindrance to writing. I hope I get the same effect of a psychedelic writing storm as Shulgin that one time like mentioned in PiHKAL. I've seen other reports of ALEPH that suggested this may be an inherent, although largely irreproducible property of the material.

Aleph (also known as DOT or 2,5-dimethoxy-4-methylthioamphetamine) sounds pretty cool,
let us know how it goes.

Aleph1/DOT is nice but known for its variability in effect. I've loved all the psychedelic phenetylamines with sulphur in them that I've tried, which except for Aleph1 are 2C-T-2, 2C-T-7 & 2C-T-21. Aleph1 has some typical DOx body load that feels slightly toxic to me though (shivers/spasms in thighs primarily).

For writing I'd guess 40-50 mcg of LSD would be my first choice, or maybe 10 mg of 2C-T-21. I wouldn't like letters to move around. Tryptamines are too unpredictable to me and I don:t think I'd be able to follow through a thought.

reading the shit you wrote the next day none of it makes sense lol
Totally.

I'm not interested in writing for writing's sake, but when I was very young and new I would eat mushrooms and write my thoughts and like the comment I'm replying to, the next day, the writing did not have the same profound meaning compared to when I wrote it.

I also recall eating LSD in college and writing papers and getting A's.

I've never been one to think that LSD/psychedelics actually increase creativity. Rather, you are more able to put on paper what was already in your head.

For writing, I would really think about the headspace you want to be in. I haven't written anything serious other than lab notes and shit I can't disclose due to NDAs for maybe 3-4 years now, but I used to write horror short stories on ayahuasca, LSA, LSD, psilocybin containing fungi, usually using yohimbine, coca tea or ephedrine (pure or as E. sinica tea) on top of it. Sometimes I'd whip up a "big sipper" of all the shit I was taking into one cup and just work through that as I was writing, and while tryptamines felt the best for spooky shit, for me the solution really lied in finding the best intersection of stimulant and psychedelic. Psilocybin and ephedrine went well together, ayahuasca and coca did too. LSA and yohimbe's intersection was usually a bit "sharp" compared to what I was looking for.

Nowadays, if I could access anything I've ever used in any amount and I was looking to write horror again, I'd pre-load 3 hours ahead of a 4 hour writing session with 15mg of DOM, have at least 5 20mg 3-MeO-PCP dippers and 4 20mg lines of amphetamine, and the enail hot and ready to sizzle, personally.

As always under influence of Cannabis can t tell if its me or her.

But poetry/ bars come easy, its just the pen and paper i forgot.
And with a impaired short memory.
They remain fleething but interesting rhymes.

Its also listening to Rap/ Grime/ Hip Hop that works stimulating.
Seems so to me tocatalyze creative sentences,
the ones that spontanious form in your head.
.
So !
Reminder, to myself.
Carry a writing pad and pen all the time.

I haven't done much writing while tripping aside from scrawled notes to self regarding those cheat codes retrieved from hyperspace - which may or may not turn out to be gibberish.. but I've generally found the creative value in psychedelics to be in the execution after the trip, sometimes on those specific ideas that burbled up during the trip, sometimes just a shift in perspective that leads to better art.

Small amounts of weed are sometimes helpful in music writing, I imagine with writing text too..
