Hey guys,

Am looking to purchase some BitCoins and had a look at MtGox..their wiring process does not seem to make sense to me. How it can connect your direct bank deposit (to them) with your account on their website?
If anyone has experiance on exchanging bitcoins on MtGox or has another website that works for them and the AUD any info would be appreciated. Cheers8(%)

Bitpiggy is pretty good. Downside is you are limited to $50 for the first transaction and they are often out of stock for three days at a time.

Ive checked around a decent amount, and at the moment the best place by far is spendbitcoins.com.au . You have to lodge cash at a NAB bank though, then take a pic of the receipt you get and email it to them. but its all anonymous and your bitcoin are in your wallet by the end of the same day. This is far superior to the trading sites but you have to pay slightly higher fees, but its worth not having to wait around.
I got my order for 40BTC in about an hour from deposit time, but it took one further hour to update my wallet. I plan on using them again soon!

Could you please validate this further? Are you saying that we can safely exchange money for bitcoins using a savings debit account?

Nope.

You can't use a savings account for spendbitcoins yo

you have to physically go to a NAB branch, and deposit cash at the branch to their account :)

they will not accept money transferred from savings account etc. 1. is for the purpose of staying annonymous. and 2. is so that they wont get scammed by scammers. etc. for example if they did accept transfers from bank accounts, once they've given you the bitcoins, you can then transfer those coins into anotehr wallet, and then go to your bank and tell your bank that u didn't do that transfer etc and ask to reverse the transfer, and your bank would do that for you, then you'd get your money back AND got bitcoins.

So therefore they only accept cash deposits from bank branches ^^

ANd yeah, spendbitcoins are good. I've used em 3times now. and each time, I had gotten the coin in my wallet in the same day of deposit. Usually around 10pm or so AST :)

yeah I'd agree spendbitcoins is the best, stay away from MtGox.

If you have a savings account with money in it then just withdraw cash from an ATM and deposit it.

Just so you know; MtGox is perfectly legit and they connect your depost to your account on their website by giving you a code to put in the description of your deposit.

the reason I'd steer clear of mtgox.com is because they require you to provide ID to get Bitcoins.

Not sure if its changed since the above posters posted about spendbitcoins.com.au but I investigated this for a friend and they used the site no probs and yeah it is now not just nab -

Please visit any of the NAB, Commonwealth Bank or Westpac branches and deposit $ over the counter..

Fill out a deposit slip with our account details, present the deposit slip and your cash to a teller (and ask the teller to include your reference [ Provided upon submission.] on the deposit) and reply to your quote e-mail with a scanned or photographed image of your receipt to confirm your deposit.

Please note, if deposit is not made within 4 hours this quote will automatically be cancelled, so please get a new quote before making your deposit.
