I still can’t believe Ed Norton was not nominated for an Academy Award for his portrayal of Aaron Stampler in “Primal Fear”. Once of the most incredible performances ever…

Movies like the ones above probably aren't even watched by most of the dried up turds responsible for the nominations.
 
Agreed. Did anyone watch "Dan in Real Life"? Steve turned in an excellent performance. That movie surprised me a bit. I would not be surprised if we see Steve in more dramatic roles in the near future.

Didn't see this one, but I'd rather he not do drama. Funny people often tend not to come back.
 
The most famous case of a great performance not being nominated for an Academy is Bette Davis for Of Human Bondage in 1934.
It was all due to politics. Davis was relatively unknown actress under contract to Warner Brother but was loaned out to RKO for Of Human Bondage which turned out to be a big hit. Good movie. It's on good video.
Well, RKO didn't want to campaign for a star who was under contract to another studio and Warner Brothers didn't want to campaign for a movie they didn't make. So the end result was that she ended up not getting nominated at all.
At the time, her being denied the nomination was considered such a travesty that for the first, last, and only time in the entire history of the Oscars, the Academy allowed write-in votes hoping she would win.
She lost.
The Academy is, was, and always will be, a joke.

I remember : Edward Norton was nominated for an Academy Award for 'Primal Fear' - It was for best supporting actor.
