I have a pituatary tumor causing the worst headaches imaginable, worst than any migraine (NOT MIGRAINES THOUGH) I'm prescribed 6 perc 5s a day, and its not working. I have this headache all day, everyday due to my condition. My percocet helps a bit, but the paint is still hardly bareable. I wanna switch to something else, any other opiate. Not migraine treatment though, its not a migraine, and those meds don't do shit. Please don't suggest them. Anyways, I want to switch to something longer acting, or with a longer half life. My doctor tried putting me on oxy ER but the insurance wouldn't cover it. I'm wondering what my options would be, I was looking at morphine or dilaudid, but I don't know if my doctor would do the dilauded. Even if I get prescribed around the same strength conversion wise, I just want something different, equal or stronger. Any ideas.

*Pleas do NOT say migraine meds/treatment. The doctors tried and even said that it was not a migraine and only treatment they could come up with was opiates after trying everything else.

Hi there, I'm so sorry to hear about your headaches :(

Pain relief is something that is generally best discussed with your doctor, especially for a slightly more unusual condition such as that.. did your doctor have any other suggestions?

Fentanyl patches are a common way to control severe pain in the UK but I'm not familiar with the US system and I am hesitant to suggest anything over the internet really..

Some pain doesn't respond well to opioids - have you tried other things such as gabapentin/pregabalin, NSAIDS, steroids etc? Is your doctor a pain specialist?

Good luck <3

Cymbalta has shown to be promising for some and some of the meds effie mentioned... Also stimulants like adderall can help. I do find steroids to be garbage and I don't use them but that doesn't meant hey don't work for you... Opana is a good one. Topamax is a good headache preventor.. It helped my migraines but you said you werent having migraines.. I would definatly talk to a pain specialist a neurologist.... Mine deals with headaches like that... Sometimes primary care dr's aren't cut out for this kind of shit. Good luck and I am sorry..

Dude this is a double post from OD and is going to get shot down.

As I suggested in your other identical post in OD, stick to MSContin generic. The retail cost at the pharmacy with no insurance help is so cheap, no more than <not very much!!> per tab.
