I've been a long time chronic pain sufferer and a few months ago it got so bad I tried IV dilaudid 8mg and it was great. That's pretty much the only way I take them now but I think my doc is going to change my script on me so I'm curious what other opiates are good for injection. Don't need to debate good/bad of IVing pills (we all know bad) - just curious the end results. I don't like the idea of injecting an ER pill given how hard they are to extract - are all Opana pills ER? Is there a quick release oxymorphone?

Aside from the obvious illicit one (H), liquid morphine is great from pain, as is pethadine but you can't be on these sorts of drugs long term (the only people who ever are, are your terminally ill/dying patients where the medical profession has determined the only remaining option is to keep the patient "comfortable" or as pain free as possible until the end.
Yes you can get quick release oxycontin (similar to oxymorphone yeah?), speak to yr GP, or you can always take the slow release ones and rub/peel the waxy coating off before you swallow it.
Naturally your biggest challenge is going to be developing a tolerance... If you don't mind me asking, what's the source of your pain? Cos if it's a chronic issue then you might want to explore some alternatives to just opiate based drugs... As I'm sure you know, long term use of these (whether it be dialaudid, oxy, morphine, even panadine porte) is called "creating a rod for your back" as you'll not only get tolerant quickly but then your going to have the nightmare of getting off whatever it is later! :(
Best of luck man

Yes,there are IR oxymorphone, 5 and 10mg strengths.

You *could* shoot oxycodone IR (roxicet), but the rush is negligible and they last longer eaten or insufflated. All other opies are either too weak, too much garbage in the pills (percoset), contraindicated (codeine and hydrocodone), glob up horribly (morphine sulfate) or are too dangerous (fentanyl). Being in Germany you might have access to things we dont here in the states.

Agreed, I'm also getting a TENS unit today to see if that can help me. I'm just trying to see if I have another/better option than dilaudid 8mg (which is nice.....)

Hmmm, I've shot 3 opiates Hydromorphone, Morphine, and Oxycodone, four if you count Buprenorphine...But dillies are the best for the rush, but morphine is also pretty damn awesome to me(like the pins and needles.) The only problem is most of the Morphine on the street in the US, or where I'm at are MS CONTIN and most of the time are the 30mg ones, which gel up really bad and are just a bitch, never had the 60mg ABG's, but for some reason the 100mg ABG MS Contins do not gel up like the 30's and are pretty easy to shoot, probly not the best thing for ya, but whatever, I'm sure a lot of us on here do not practice what we preach...also it's debatele, but I enjoy the rush from oxy also, even though some say it doesn't have one, and although not as good as dillies or Morphine it's good...But Morphine is my favorite cuz it's got legs to it also. Wanna try Oxymorphone, but it's not around these old parts.

I understand you know that it's bad, but please please please for the sake of your health invest in a micron filter-makes the injection of pharmaceuticals exponentially less harmful, not safe, but definitely less harmful.

DO NOT inject oxycodone, barely ANY benefits to the high, and oral is pretty much just as good.
Other than that, you really can't beat dilaudid, but obviously people shoot all kindsa shit, so it's really up to what you end up getting.
Whatever it is, use a micron filter.

In a perfect world we would all get some micron filters, but I don't do pills enough that way to get em,although I would like to have them, plus I'm sure a lot of us are in positions where we can't get them delivered to where we are staying unfourantaley... and if people wanna bang their oxy, well that's their business, sure if they are doing it that way they have tried eating, snorting, maybe even plugging but enjoy banging their oxy to the other mehtods...just sayin.

Edit: Only opiates I would tell people NOT to inject for SURE are Codiene and Hydrocodone as those can cause a build up of fluid in the lungs. Their was a trip report where someone did it with Hydrocodone via the new Zohydro, but doing it reguarly could end up being pretty bad, well with fluid building up in your lungs...

when IV'd, I wouldn't call oxycontin similar to oxymorphone at all, besides them both being op[iates. oxymorphone is thebest thing I've ever shot

this would be more appropriate in drug culture but either way we are not here to recommend you drugs

you need to discuss pain treatment with your dr.
