best on stage music performer??

Another few stand-outs for me -

James Brown - around 1990 in Dublin - he was old even then, but he (and his band) put on an amazing show...

Arcade Fire - collectively - each time I've seen them they put (literally) blood, sweat & tears into it...

Bruce Springsteen - must be the Hardest Working Man in Showbusiness since JB relinquished the title...

bruce from iron maiden amazed me in his old age climbing and swinging off the set n battling a 12 foot 'Eddie' with a guitar or sumthin crazy! not bad for an old guy! ;)

I gotta agree with James Brown, I saw him about 1993 ish at V festival and he was brilliant!

Arcade Fire were excellent when I saw them too, I love that band.

The first gig I ever went to was in 1986 to see Iron Maiden supported by WASP in Germany.
Like you said Bruce was all over the place and he even had a laser gun fight with Eddie.
This was the Somewhere In Time Tour.
I even found an Adrian Smith plectrum on the floor at the front when the lights went up.
Still got it and my ticket now.

my bro was clearing out his room and found some of my cds tonight one of which is somewhere back in time! oh how iv missed having sum maiden in my life!

Metallica are definitely my favourite. Closely followed by Marilyn Manson and Slipknot (some of their shows are fucking insane. Cunts jumping off balconies, etc.) Rage Against the Machine at Download in 2009 was something really special. I'm shocked no one died. People being dragged out, fitting and stuff. Crazy.

There's loads more metal bands that really get the crowd going. One Minute Silence got the whole floor of the MEN Arena to do two circle pits. I was in between both. Quite scary having thousands of people all running around you, then smashing into each other. Had plenty of kicks to the head and other injuries from gigs. Prodigy and Pendulum were both amazing live, when I saw them. I was under the influence every time, of course.

R*u*s*h

1st place would be Rush!!! I would give Gwar 2nd place but I was on a 4-way of gel tabs at that show. I could watch someone fix a toilet on a 4-way and it would probably be amazing so that may not be a good pick (Dude, did you see the part when he lifted the lid and the colors came streaming out at warp speed!!! And how about the part when he did the test flush and the bowl became a spiraling vortex of a black hole pulling everything into the center of the universe!!! It was totally fucking awsome man!) but WTF, it was a great show at the time.
