What's your favorite album and/or song by these guys to trip out to?

i'm surprised this hasn't been closed. :)

for me their best one is Deloused in the Comatorium. its not as dense, so its easier to handle whilst tripping. the other ones you'll need to be a lot more familiar with from sober listening in order to fully enjoy.

Sorry to revive, but Frances The Mute obviously!

Although Lateralus by Tool is my favourite record to trip to. And anything by Primus.

Just glad to see The Mars Volta get a mention on bluelight :D

ALL OF THEM you have 6 hours!

Listen straight up, you need to listen to each one of the albums in sucession to witness the spiritual progression of the band, each album merely tightens your psyche and soul.

Like straight up, all of the albums should be no longer than 6 hours.
with their latest album octahedron being the most relaxing and chilled of them all.
Thus providing a perfect nesting ground for coming down, and the way luciforms throws you out right at the end, you just know there are more great things to come from them.

The mars volta are by far one of thee best bands in the world to trip to.

Like tool if you start at the beginning you will realize just how much progression there is to their maddness

Deloused is my favorite overall ALBUM by them to trip to, especially Cicatriz ESP.

However my favorite track by them to trip to is Soothsayer off of Bedlam In Goliath. Amazing track ;)

I would do Frances the Mute, because it feels so fluid through the whole thing. Big fan of all of the albums though.

This isn't the right place for this, you would have better luck in the Non-electronica music forum.

Depends on which album im most into at the time ;). I had quite the experience listening to them from deloused to frances to amputecture back to back, it was a pretty epic journey
