Another vote for Ed Rush & Optical. They throw so much energy into their set and I like to see that from DJ's.

i think the only reason why i brought that 2 hour thing is that the times i have checked out Paul Oakenfold, i had to shell out $35 at least to check him out. If i am only paying $12 to go check out Digweed, busting the hell out the Mayan in LA for 5 hours straight, Paul Oakenfold can put up a better show. I know people that checked out Oakenfold in Chicago this past spring sayiing that D:Fuse put on a better set/show than Oakenfold.
Oakenfold is the MOST OVERRATED DJ in the planet. There i said it. He is truly now in this business for the money... Do you know why he is collaborating with MTV? Do you know why he is doing soundtracks for the movie swordfish? Do you know why he is trying to be commercial with trance? ITS BECAUSE HE WANTS TO MAKE LOTS OF MONEY!...
Damn, i gonna get bitched out for this... =)

Lee Rous (one of the Plump DJ's)..
Played one of the nastiest and funkiest breaks set I've ever heard..
and my favourite local (Australian) DJ is...
Phil K..
Very deep, dark (almost scary, well sometimes anyway
smile.gif
) house.. followed up with some awesome breaks.. layered in with EFX and awesome mixing and technical skills.. He rocks!

No bitching. Your right about him doing it for the money. But, I still love him. Yeah he is an asshole in real life I'm sure but, I don't care because he's our(hisfans) asshole. If you want to be that big you have to do things like that. And don't think Sasha or Digweed don't do the same thing. I've heard about them on MTV plenty of times. That's just the way it is. This thing(the scene) is appealing to the masses. That's the way it is that's the way it's going to be.

My Personal Favs Are:
DJ Odi(jungle)
Dj Kazpa(Jungle)
Dj Ru(also Jungle :P)
Also Anyone know any good Happy Hardcore Dj's? Im looking for some good jungle and HH live sets. hit me back, one

your absolutely right about that lazerus! Who does not want to make extra bucks in their pocket. I think everyone should give credit to oakey for really bringing trance to america. Tranceport 1 was an excellent compilation that i really got into as far as trance was concerned a couple years back (along with kimball collins, icu compilation 1)...

Tranceport was the CD that opened me up to progressive trance....but that was my infant stage with this music...I do still like the CD to this day purely for what it is worth to me. And yes Oakenfold is overated because his mixing skills are not to extensive. And yes he is in to it for the money because he has put out 3 mix CDs (maybe more) in the past year. Has he ever heard of MODERATION? And Sasha n Digweed may have been "mentioned" on MTV because of their skill...but they are not looking to do business with such a washed out corporation of fakeness and image....
Best live DJs:
well I finally got to see Digweed for my first time last night up in Detroit and it was to say the least....PURE BLISS. I drove all the way up there (with 2 friends) from Indy (5 hours) and only got to see him play for an hour 1/2 (Detroit curfew at 2). But it was so worth it even if it was short. The energy and flow of his set was unbelievable....he had the whole crowd in the palm of his hand and he was just probing our minds and bodies with his surreal sound. It was so nice to be in such a large group of people that trully UNDERSTAND and feel the music as I do....it was a beautiful moment in my time....and I could NOT stop moving for one minute of what I saw. OH yeah...and he dropped the new Chemical Brothers track that has yet to be realeased....watch out for that one...it is a scorcher.
So my list to this day from what I have seen goes:
1. John Digweed
2. Sasha
3. Carl Cox
4. Sandra Collins
5. Bad Company (@ whistle 3)
6. Dave the drummer
7. Marco Corola
as you can see....I am quite deprived of the "good stuff" here in Indy. I have to travel distances to fill my void and taste.

I have seen Oakenfold twice. Once in New Orleans during Mardi Gras and Once in Chicago at the aragon. In New Orleans there was maybe 7 or 8 hundred people there and it was probably the best experience of my life. In chicago there was like 5 or 6 thousand and he was mediocore at best. Besides that D:FUSE was unbelievable in Chicago. Dj Irene is awesome live. She has so much energy. She literally picked up the mixer and was holding it in one arm and mixing with the other hand, and she knows how to control the crowd. I would also have to say that I saw AK 1200, Dieselboy, and Dara do a triple tag at bump in Chicago. OMG it was unbelievable. So heres the list:
1. Oakie - New Orleans
2. D:FUSE - Chicago
3. Dj Irene - Louisville
4. AK 1200
Dieselboy - Chicago
Dara
5. Digital Underground - Chicago
Though Digital Underground are not DJ's they were awesome at BUMP. They knew what it was all about.
List of Dj's that I want to see.
1. Paul van Dyk
2. Tiesto
3. Carl Cox
4. Dj Icey
5. Sasha

1.)Sasha and Carl Cox tie it, I know, i'm one of those onthefence motherfuckers.
2.)Richie Hawtin. Saw him in a small club setting in Milwaukee, fuckin' tore shit up. Event Further '99 is another asskicker. (note: If you can find it on iMesh, his set from that year is available)
3.)Mistress Barbara.
4.)Paul Van Dyke
5.)(and this is an honorary vote simply because he was what got me into music) DJ Hardware.
