%)Benzos and opiates are a classic combination because the former potentiates the later. I feel that some benzos kick in the nod better, others the anxiolytic/destressing qualities and yet other ones the euphoria prferentially.
In Europe it seems that given a choice dope fiends would go with Rohypnol or temazepam as prefered agents. My Top 5 in ascending order are

5. Triazolam
4. Ativan
3. Valium
2. Xanax
1. Klonopin

Klonopin beats Xanax by a narrow margin. Xanax would make me nod alittle harder:| but Klonopin had a better balance of all factors, the noding sessions seemed to last longer than other ones including valium, better sense of euphoria and well being.%) It has traditionally been the first chioce among dope fiends here in CA. I think there is subtle magic in the pairing. The minty taste after sublingual pills disolved complemented the taste of the chai.
With pairing drugs with coke and chiva I liked xanax or valium. When I smoked tweek then heroin I would take valium mostly but I liked Xanax slightly better to combine with the two aforementioned drugs through the day (valium was easier to get for me at the time.) Halcion and a beer would help me get a couple hours of sleep then wake up and start over.

As far as other sedatives- Alcohol was a horrible mix for me for some reason. I would drink alot during my last run but it would make me feel achey and kick in the euphoria for a second and then take away from the euphoria for the rest of the seccession.:(

Placydyl I feel worked well to kick in the euphoria, but made me alittle too sedated. It is, coincidentally the only drug that would help me get a couple hours of sleep when I was kicking dope.:| Nothing else worked for more than 1/2 hr tops.:!

Chloral hydrate I feel is also a good potentiator. My last connection had a bottle of the syrup. Great way to finish the day would be to take some and smoke and drift off to sleep. I used to get it scripted quite a bit in gel caps. I would take 2-3 smoke chai and then drift off into some crazy, pleasant sleep. Chloral hydrate would give me some vivid dreams. :|:)Unique among sedatives in that it has a negligible effect on REM sleep according to some older studies. I don't know if it was the power of suggestion but I totally noticed that effect subjectively- the dreams would be vivid and almost invariably pleasant to my recollection.:D<3

Warning: Mixing of any sedatives, benzodiazepines, hypnotics, or alcohol with opiates is very dangerous and can result in death from respiratory arrest or other complications. This is particularly dangerous among people who are not dependent on either or both classes of drugs. Such individuals should never take such combinations without medical supervision. This risk is extreemlyserious

Best Benzo

There was a benzo rating thread that I came accross on accident . The question was to have people rate benzos acording to certain criteria to determine how they stack up against each other individually. My thread focuses on them as efficacy as opiate potentiators from a recreational standpoint. Anyway, one of the guys said he was bored and went in a counted how many times each benzo was mentioned as an indication of overall popularity of each one:

I have been really really bored today so I went through every post and wrote down those that gave examples of their favorites and this is what I came up with....You probably wont be that surprised.

1. 86 votes- Alprazolam
2. 82 votes- Clonazepam
3. 79 votes- Diazepam
4. 58 votes- Lorazepam(very shocked at how many people put that down)
5. 37 votes- Temazepam
6. 28 votes- Flunitrazepam
7. 25 votes- Nitrazepam
7. 25 votes- Midazolam
8. 23 votes- Triazolam
9. 17 votes- Bromazepam
10. 16 votes- Oxazepam
11. 12 votes- Chlordiazepoxide(another shocker, considering how weak it is)
12. 6 votes- Clorazepate
12. 6 votes- Nimetazepam
13. 5 votes- Lormetazepam
14. 4 votes- Brotizolam
14. 4 votes- Tetrazepam
15. 3 votes- Clobazepam
15. 3 votes- Loprazelam
16. 2 votes- Nordiazepam
17. 1 vote- Flurazepam
17. 1 vote- Phenazepam
17. 1 vote- Estazolam
17. 1 vote- Prazepam

Those are the results as of half an hour ago. Hope this makes it easier for those that want to see the major players in peoples benzo universe.

Anyway, how this compares to my list. Some similaritiess

Mine: LiquidIce

1. Klonopin 2.
2. Xanax 1.
3. Valium 3.
4. ATIVAN 4.
5. Halcion 8.

Lets here others favorites focusing on opiate potentiation and some non opiate benzos.

GBL is one I forgot to mention that went well with heroin provided you didn't over domdose because it has a ttendency to knock you on your ass and lose dope ect...

Good Combo

Ya Ive found that clonazepam (k-pins) and heroin do mix very well and produce a very nice high but the downside is I always end up sleeping until 3 or 4 in the afternoon and even when I wake I still feel tired. So basically I think their fun to do as long as you have nothing to do the following day.

Whyd heroin + klonopin = jail?

Did you get caught with them on you or caught selling them or what?

Probably a case of classic benzo amnesia and doing something stupid in public. Correct me if I'm wrong.:)

The antiemetic phenergan is a good potentiator.

The high potency benzos are though to have a unique mechanism of action relative to the higher potency ones xanax, clonazepam, ativan vs valium, librium, and oxazepam. Xanax in particular was once postulated to effect 5-HT neurotransmission. Anyone know if a sertoninergic component to the MOA of alprazolam or clonazepam has ever been proven. I wonder if this could be the basis of their compatability with opiates. I wonder also if there is a risk of precipitating serotonin syndrome if mixed with MDMA, ect...

What is the basis for differential effects of benzos on opiate potentiation. What role does differential binding/ affinities for the different benzodiazepine receptor subtypes on the gamma subunit of the GABA-A receptor and which ones are responsible for pontentiating which opiate effects?

Do benzo's potentiate opiate analgesia, if so which one is the most effective at doing this and by which mechanism of action- microsomal enzyme inhibition, effect on spinal sites or by effecting suparspinal substrates (do receptors for benzodiazepines and mu receptors co-occur in the periaquadecal grey?

I didn't know about benzos being unsafe with opiates. I'm happy I was safe. I'll keep this in mind

I found out (the hard way) that heroin + klonopin = jail. :|

I found that OxyContin + Klonopin = Jail :\

There was a reason why I was taking Klonopin with OxyContin though, because it is my favorite benzodiazepines to take with opiates. Klonopin produces a lot of additional sedation and I enjoy its long duration. Gives a good nod. Increases the actual duration of the high as well.

Anyway, my list would go a little like this:
1. Klonopin
2. Xanax
3. Valium
4. Ativan

I've done a lot of dope and OxyContin but those are the only four benzodiazepines that I've used in combination.

Xanax is my second favorite because it increases the potency of the Heroin rush right after hitting up. Valium makes me really relaxed during my high but it could make me really tired and fall asleep without the nod. Ativan...well Ativan never really increased my high much.
