best gallon size container to use when mixing naptha, mimosa, and naho

^I've always used an autopipette for sucking up solvents so I didn't think about baster-related difficulties. Could very well be a challenge to navigate a baster inside of an opaque jug.

^If you plan on doing a lot of extracts in the future you should just get a separatory funnel then you could use the easiest containers and extracts are soooo much easier. You could get a fair sized one for a little more than 50 dollars online.

water is more dense than naptha.

before you attempt an extraction, practice with plain water and naptha so you get your skills up.

Wouldn't this totally depend on the scale of your extraction?

I use a 2000 ml flask for 250 g of MHRB.

yes, but you can always add more water to bring the level of naptha up to where you can pull it out with a siphon or syringe.

H2O (pH 14) plus H2O (pH 7) equals H2O (pH 14)

this is also why if you spill lye or lye water on your skin, rinsing it with H2O does NOT WORK. you must neutralize with vinegar or get serious burns

^^That certainly depends on the volume used.

Dont try to convince me that 1 ml pH 14 solution mixed with 1 l pH 7 solution gives a pH 14 solution.

You can very well dilute an alkaline (or acidic for that matter) to nearly neutral solution with water. Its just a matter of how much water you use. Simple math.

I think because it is a logarithmic scale 1 ml H2O pH 14 plus 9 ml H2O pH 7 = 10 ml H2O +/- pH 13

In other words, dilute the volume 10 times means divide the concentration of H3O+ and OH- by 10, the former is insignificant at pH = 14 but the [OH-] is not. The closer you get to pH 7 the less useful this little calculation probably is because then both [H3O+] and [OH-] become significant, complicating the equilibrium and the equation.
