My back is broken in 3 places. I have been on the old Oxycontin (OC) but the OP Oxycontin doesn't work. I have also been on Morphine Sulfate. I'm lookng for a good ER pain med that actually works.. I was on OP 60mg. I want to know which is best as I am physically disabled:

- Opana
- Dilaudid ER
- Fentananyl Patch (been on it)
- Fentananyl Pops

I am 21 and my back has been broke for over 2 years.. I have Medicare.

Any advice to go about it as well talking? Please help. I want to sleep and have pan relief throughout the day. I am on OxyIR 30mg 4x a dayu and it's not cutting it. I've been on MS Contin but it was only 30mg.

Help appreciated. Not meaning to violate rules?

Physical therapy & local anesthetia (lidocaine patches) is probably the best option. Most of those are either very strong opioids with short durations (hydromorphone/oxymorphone preps) or are not always effective for pain control (fentanyl).

Consult your doctor, not us.

I would say Ms-Contin is actually the best bet. You can get a much higher dose and safely take it. you may need 100mg ER's or possibly 200mg. They offer a good 12 hours worth of pain relief.

You said you tried it, but at only 30mg it eill fo little for the pain. Good news is, Ms-contin can be prescribed at much higher doses.

My brother had a very serious back injury a few years back and dealt with a ton of pain. For him oxycontin would work for short periods of time but leave him in pain for a good part of the day. He was later prescribed 100mg of ms-contin and was able to take 200mg daily. He said it worked very good for him.

You may want to see a pain specialist and see what advice he can offer. My brother began getting injections directly into his spine every few months. That along with Ms-Contin and some physical therapy left him with very little pain.

The only negative he had with morphine sulfate was the itching. It has a tendency to cause the itchies more then any other painkiller. 25mg of diphenhydramine can stop that however

Yes, consult a physician. I have a friend who has a similar problem and is on an array of pain medications and is constantly in and out of doctor/pain clinic visits.
He is currently on fentanyl patches with Oxy 30's for break through pain and is on his fourth surgery. It is a long road to recovery.

as long as you don't mess with the ER mechanism oxy/hydromorphone ER last 12 hours i believe, and would both be very effective "normally" as would a high dose of ER morphine, fent poatches could also work, everyone responds differently to different opiates, so try one of the 3 you suggested (if you don' like oxycontin i would go for hydromorphone or fent not oxymorphone), and see how it goes
