best brand of multi-vits minerals?

Centrum are notorious for not being bioavaliable and thus worthless. I use GNC megamen vitamins because they are the shit. You feel flustered and dizzy for a few minutes and then you feel 'high' for hours.

:\

I have been taking a multivitamin complex for almost 3 years now ever since my second trip to rehab for alcoholism and narcotic abuse but in streaks. At times I went off my schedule but never lapsed for more than a couple months. I have been taking a multivitamin complex daily now for about 12 months. For about 3 of those months I decided to use GNC MegaMan Complex but had to discontinue due to money issues and had to go back on to the cheap generic multivitamin complex. Yes, the GNC MegaMan Complex worked great, there are many other minerals and healthy herbals that the majority of multivitamin complex do not...

but...

'feel high for hours'? I have never achieved a 'high' from vitamins. These complex are supplements, they are not intended for recreational purposes and if they were, there would be no potential. Yes, after being on this particular complex for a few months does make you feel more energized and healthy but that is its only purpose. Maybe this enhancement is what you may be referring to?

Pressed Pill Vitamins have a 10-20% absorbtion rate due to all the the filler material needed to press and hold the pill together. Liquid Vitmains have a 80-90% absorbtion rate.

PLEASE post a source because I'm planning on doing some healthy shopping in a couple days after I get my nice sized paycheck (Store Manager Big Lots). If you have this information and it is true than you must have got it from some source. If this is just something that you heard than admit it. I'm reluctant to believe this but yet intrigued if this is true.

Does anybody else have some brand name multivitamin complex that may be more effective than the active ingredients in the MegaMan complex? Money isn't a problem.

That looks like a nice mix up there K'dout.

I usually take trader joe's multivitamin and mineral antioxidant tabs (2 tablets a day, 100 tabs in a bottle, for $8) because I am fairly poor, and spend money on other supplements (good iron, fish oil, and cal/mag/zinc). If you just want the basics and nothing fancy, it's a great, very well priced multivit.

I'll say it for a THIRD time in this thread ... this information came from the book "The Physicians Desk Reference" look it up yourself.

I own the PDR (2000 through 2005) and the only vitamins that are listed are those that are prescribed for medicinal purposes such as deficiencies. Please provide the chapter and I'll look it up. If you can't do that, than the information is invalid. In pill form or liquid concentration, you are still taking the substance orally which means that the difference in bioavailability would be very little, if anything.

Once in your stomach, tablets must be broken down before they enter the bloodstream while liquid does not need to be broken down, resulting in quicker absorption. This does not necessarily mean that the bioavailability should be effected, with the exceptions of certain vitamins that do not fully dissolve. Yes, the bioavailability will be greater when consumed in liquid concentration versus in tablet form but it wouldn't be any greater than double the bioavailability.

I use new chapter only one. the nutrients are probiotic and so attached to food for better absorption supposedly. It is vegetarian and has no fillers or artificial colors/flavors.

I have been taking this multivit but I'm thinking of trying a different brand, since I'm fairly new to multivitamins. I have no complaints, and they *definitely* stop me from getting ill after stimulant use or when travelling (which were my main concerns, after overall health improvement). Would be interested to see what everyone recommends for ladies.

I take MDR (medical doctors research) fitness tabs (2 a day). They are pretty badass... I've gotten a lot more energetic and not so run down as I used to be, and my skin and face look a lot healthier. I also take omega-3 fish oil daily.
