best brand of multi-vits minerals?

tried to find a source on the centrum thing for about 5 mins and decided it wasn't worth my time. I retract my centrum statement but I had heard there was a story on the news about it a few months back from more than one person.
I was just curious as I have never heard this before.

Tokey - Why is a vitamin having that effect on you a good thing? I don't understand??

What effect? I don't understand you either.=D

I have been reading and have discovered that Liquid Vitamins are MUCH better than Pressed Pills. Pressed Pill Vitamins have a 10-20% absorbtion rate due to all the the filler material needed to press and hold the pill together. Liquid Vitmains have a 80-90% absorbtion rate. But I'm still researching these numbers to make sure that there is more truth to it.

If it says on the lable that the vitamins have at least 125mg of vitamin C and all the B vitamins and you drink good water (without fluoride and chlorine) you'll be alright.

Generic are just as good as "natural" vitamins.

There are a lot of nutritional scammers out there.

Yes-you sure do. Compare the labels--you get more bang for your buck using other brands.

Yes and no. Your body only needs a certain amount of these substances, and after a certain level has been reached the overload is processed out of the body in urine.

hey are now foods a good company for vits etc?,they have a large list of goodies!

No vitamin liquid or tablet can deliver anywhere near 80 to 90% absorbtion to my knowledge.

Please post your source for these stats. Thanks:)

There is a book entitled "The Physicians Desk Reference" that is used by Doctors and such. And in it, it says:

"90-100% Absorption rates versus 10-20% with pills" referring to specific liquid mulit-vitamins.

think ill get the caps then in the future and gel caps! as most of you are saying tablets dont get fully absorbed?

andy!

U.R.B.4.U.R. - Sorry, I got confused, my post was meant for someone else, not you!

Centrum are notorious for not being bioavaliable and thus worthless. I use GNC megamen vitamins because they are the shit. You feel flustered and dizzy for a few minutes and then you feel 'high' for hours.
^Tokey, I don't get what you mean by this??

Dan, first you say 80-90% absorption rates.

Then you say 90%-100% absorption rates. My gut tells me that someone's stretching the truth, is misinforming us of it, or the doctors/researchers are full of it.

But yes, sources would be great.

There are many supplements available as liquid, so it's not some high end technology to make. Why then if there is such great difference in absorption between liquid and tablets, don't most of manufacturers make liquid versions?
Multivits should be taken with the food, or else you will probably get much less absorption. Maybe somebody did a study of liquid multivit and tablet on a empty stomach?

I'm guessing there are fewer liquid vitamins because of the extra work involved. Especially multi vitamins. It comes in a big 30-serving bottle. How do they work it out that the liquid stays consistent with the same % of vitamins throughout usage? Liquids most likely have a shorter shelf life too, and are bulkier and heavier to ship.

The price is reflective of this. I think it was around 40 dollars last time I bought a multi.

But still there are many multivits packed in small daily packets, then packed in a big bottle. You usually have 2-3 gel caps with essential oils, caps with some herbs, and tablets with multivits. They cost a lot, and are usually marketed as best supplements...why wouldn't they pack vitamins in gel caps too?

I'm sorry when I first posted I was going off my memory. I later re-checked it and realized I wrote the wrong thing.

Like I said check out the book "The Physicians Desk Reference" for the source.
