what do you guys think is the best benzo? i'm a 20 year old that is prescribed ativan (lorazepam) and its alright, i'm just wondering if there's something better out there. my shrink monitors my prescription carefully, so i only get 5 pills every 10 days, and i'm worried if i switch to xanax i'll go through them too fast, because they've been described as "the crack of benzos". is this accurate? should i try to push for some valium? or is there some other benzo i don't know about? give me some advice!

I would not recommend Xanax. It is by far the most recreational benzo out there, but it is also the one most likely to cause seizures, and seizures, I can tell you, are no fun at all.

Klonopin is a good one as well, similar to Xanax and less likely to cause seizures. The problem with Klonopin is that it is longer-lasting than Xanax and, for me, at least, too long-lasting when I have places to be and need to drive from point A to point B.

EDIT: Honestly, the benzo that I would want prescribed to me is the one you are prescribed now, Ativan. Lorazepam is one of the few benzos out there that can be snorted. No, the bioavailability is not greater than simply taking the Ativan by mouth, but when I am about to blow down a couple of lines already of oxycodone, hell, why not throw a little lorazepam in the mix as well?
