Wow. Chloral hydrate?!?! That's a proven lady-killer, supposedly contributing to the deaths of Marilyn Monroe and Anna Nicole Smith. I've heard anecdotal stories about it being used as a date-rape drug. A script for that must be even harder to come by than one for Desoxyn.

Anyways, I agree with everyone who has already endorsed longer-acting benzos to help with stim comedowns. Clonazepam works the best for me. I have a fair benzo tolerance so I use anywhere from 1.5-3.0mg for this purpose. Letting them dissolve sublingually substantially decreases the time it takes to kick in. Clonazepam has the added benefit of not tasting like complete ass like Xanax does making the sublingual route pretty optimal IMO. And as mentioned it has a wicked-long half-life so it's good for sleeping >10 hrs.

The only possible drawback is that it's not as hypnotic as other benzos or z-drugs. I don't find this a problem after a decent binge. The anxiolytic effects are enough to get me to a place where it's easier to fall asleep. You all know the benzo warnings but it bears repeating: USE SPARINGLY.

Ambien (zolpidem) just made me hallucinate wildly when coming down off stims. Fun? Yes...from what I remember 8(

Temazepam or Halcion

Based on my personal experience; Temazepam hands down is the best option. (depending on your benzo tolerance 30mgs for someone with zero tolerance to fall asleep (and stay asleep) quickly. For a moderate to high tolerance 90-150mgs. Temazepam is also a very enjoyable euphoric benzodiazepine if you're trying to catch a buzz.

I prefer a Xanax and Valium combo (if you have the luxury of having both). These days .5 of Xanax and 5mg of Valium would probably do the trick. Nothing brings stims to a halt like Xanax and Valium has the patience to hang out with you while you catch up on your sleep. Haven't taken anything besides Klonopin in quite a while.

If I'm spoilt for choice, my definite selection would be a combo of alprazolam and an intermediate- or long-acting hypnotic benzo (flunitrazepam, nitrazepam, lormetazepam, temazepam).
The alprazolam kicks in quickly with a strong anxiolytic effect, counteracting the psychological distress and sudden dysphoria of a stimulant crash. This keeps you relaxed and gives you time to maybe drink a beer or two, smoke a joint, watch something relaxing or just space out to music before the hypnotic kicks in and ushers you into sleep.

Is Halcion (triazolam) really that strong? I find it hard to believe that a 125 microgram pebble can knock me out. What do people usually go with after 1 day on the meth. Especially if I want to combine with 20mg temazepam so I don't wake up 3hrs later alert as fuck? I have zero tolerance.

For me, Xanax because it makes the most sleepy. However, I prefer Seroquel to crash off amphetamines.

i no longer take benzos when i crash from uppers, unless im out in public, or at work, if im home, ill just take trazadone or seroquel and knock myself out, i have wasted so many benzos that i took when i was crashing, for one, i would need 3x more then my normal amt cuz my CNS is so stimulated, #2, as soon as the duration of the benzo wears off, i go right back to being depressed and miserable. ill just have ex masturabate on youporn.com to calm down and take trazadone.

I've been using benzo's for years and every different one you can think of. Coming down from a stimulant high sux and YES benzo's help tremendously. If your really feeling like shit then take a fast acting one first like Xanax or Lorazepam followed by a slow acting one i prefer Clonazepam but Valuim works too just not as potent as K-pin - these should have long enough half-lifes to make you feel better till you fall asleep. If sleep is all your after then take hypnotic benzo's like Temazepam - Nitrazepam - Midazolam. The combo of the first anxiolytic ones will calm your nerves and heart and the hypnotics will sedate you to sleep. If you have a couple opiates handy they help too. I realize u probably don't have access to all of these meds to take pick from so just take what you can find cuz most all benzodiazepines have anxiolytic, anticonvulsant, hypnotic, sedative, skeletal muscle relaxant, and amnestic properties. + benadryl (diphenhydramine HCl) will add to the sedating properties quite a bit.

Just beware adding too many downers together, or suddenly you put yourself in dangerous territory with respiratory depression, also the stimulants combined with depressants can lead to increased cardiovascular strain.

Most important is just to remember to take what you must to have a semi restful nights sleep, but realize that having it both ways does present its dangers. Less uppers is always a potentially safer option. 8)
