Canderia, At the gates, In flames, Old school Metallica(especially that track orion) .... Wouldnt' say any band is the best though... these are really really good though..

then there's liquid tension experiment and their just fucking insane... they use so many different instrument its ridiculous.. another good band is Astral Projection although they produce Psy-Trance.. and the term 'band' doesn't really work for them, same for 'Bad Company AKA {{EIB}}'(The dnb bass band, not rock)

The Beastie Boys. There isn't another band out there that can play so many different genres with talent and style the way the Beasties can. Together they can slam out hip hop, funk, punk, lounge, and psychedelic rock. Mike D does country with his Country Mike project. Adrock and drummer AWOL do techno and electronic with BS200. They can do it all and they do it all well.

Honorable mention goes to Joy Division/New Order

My love goes to Mindless Self Indulgence even if they aren't the best band in the world!

I am with you all the way thinks2much! I have had some amazing experiences/revelations/thought patterns while listening to Tool. The more I listen, the more meaningful and relevant the words become to my own life.

Over-thinking, over-analyzing, separates the body from the mind.... careful, thinks2much! ;)

Mtv just did a "22 Greatest Bands show" (bands within the last 25-30 years)

There were some real good mentions on the list but they royally fucked up when Linkin Park placed better then the Red Hot chilli peppers. LP shouldn't even of been on the list if you ask me..
