I'm planning on starting to do a nicotine taper to try and quit smoking. I keep reading conflicting information and it's all a bit confusing. What sort of taper would you guys recommend? I smoke 10 cigarettes a day, so I'm not a heavy smoker. I'm not sure how fast to do the taper - I've seen about four different docs over the years and each has recommended different things.
Any advice? If all else fails I'm thinking of investing in some e-cigarettes and just moving from the strong cartridges to the weak ones and eventually to ones that don't contain any nicotine at all. It would be great if I could do this blindly (i.e. someone else is in charge of when the dose is reduced without me knowing to avoid psychological dependence getting in the way of my rational thinking).
