Best antidepressant

Hi guys,

I would like your opinions on this. I've been feeling a little down lately, and I was wondering which antidepressant, SSRI or not, you find most effective or useful?

I have been on mirtazapine before, and know that with some of these drugs it takes weeks before they work, and you are okay to mention one of those aswell, although obviously the faster the better

Peoples reaction to antidepressants vary so much from person to person especially in terms of unwanted side effects that its not really possible to make a recommendation IMO. You just need to work with your doctor to find one that works for you if you can find one at all.

That is why I asked for opinions and experiences. Please, provide me with those, even if you think it pointless Some background info would probably help aswell

It is very subjective. Take a look at the TDS directory in my sig - there is a lot of info on depression and treatment options there, then discuss it with your doctor There have also been threads on this in BDD before..

I'm going to close this. D3xo-fan, please take a look at the BDD guidelines and have a think about whether a thread is suitable before you start it you've had a lot of threads closed here, and if it keeps happening we might have to start issuing warnings.
