best antidepressant for MDMA induced depression

the difficulty in working out whether MDMA causes depression is that, the type of people who are most likely to take MDMA are people who suffer depression anyway and are looking for an escape.

It's probably not prescribed for depression, but I can see how it could be effective.

As for the best anti-depressant thing, you could maybe try not taking it so often that you need a whole fuckload of other drugs to combat the depression, and just deal with it as one of the consequences of taking MDMA. I don't think neurotoxicity is an issue when used sparingly.

Yeah obviously but the guy that said that was a psychiatrist.

Can i buy TRAMADOL online? (or is it illegal e.g. in the same category as heroin.)

(im fully aware of what tramadol is, its effects, etc. im asking about its legality and if i can buy it online legally, like with legal highs)
It is not a controlled substance, though obviously prescription only. Despite this there are about six trillion websites that will sell it to you.

I really don't mind answering stupid questions, but I'm not always on line. However, I would be willing to share my secret source of arcane knowledge.

Exercise. Seriously. Also sleep, three meals a day, and maybe lecithin.

even antibiotic effects against some bacteria (MRSA!)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperforin#Pharmacology

Of note, to those repeating this claim, and similar claims about cannabis:

The IC50, or effective concentration, for hyperforin's effects at SERT, DAT, NET, and the GABA transporter, is about 0.1 ug / ml. The minimal inhibitory concentration to inhibit S. aureus is 1 ug/ml, ten times a normal dose. Use of hyperforin as an antibiotic would likely require doses still higher, as the minimal inhibitory concentration must be maintained w.r.t. hyperforin's biological half-life.

In other words, unless you take thirty caps a day, don't expect any antibiotic benefit. And if you take thirty caps a day, do expect some nasty toxic side-effects. There's a reason that things like this don't always make the cut for medicinal use, and it's not that Big Pharma is going to let people die in order to improve their profit margin. Rather, it's that bacteria, especially drug-resistant strains, are really hard to kill, and require potentially toxic concentrations of things like hyperforin in order to effectively kill them.

A similar note applies to any anticancer claims regarding tetrahydrocannabinol and cannabidiol: the effective dose for cancer treatment is probably far higher than that for recreational use, likely high enough to be very unpleasant.

is MDMA induced depression actually a real thing?

Unlikely. Irresponsible behavior associated with MDMA use may cause depression.

Lexapro is byfar the best for me. I tried 4 different anti depressents and 2 different anti psychotics and lexapro was a godsend.

I was having HORRIBLE depression...to the point where I didnt know myself or why im even living anymore....seriously lexapro, working out, new friends, and NOT doing mdma (10 months clean!) and I noticed I was getting better by the day.

bben weve talked before...i mean look at my damn thread I made a year ago called "hello im what you call a etard"

I was seriously LOST i didnt know what to do. Lexapro is a life saver for me.

I used MDMA irresponsibly when I was 17-19, often combined with meth in the pills.

Tried just dealing with the depression and I'm kinda been getting used to it, been on and off Mirtazapine, 3 months each time, haven't noticed any real improvement except in my sleep for the first 2 months.

Any suggestions?

This is golden advice. Mixing this with another good suggestion from this thread, or even using alone will work wonders.

When trying diets, or drugs to solve problems people forget that they can easily be ineffective on their own, and still require some input from the user. They're not just shortcuts.

Since when is tramadol prescribed for depression?

it isn't, i started taking it to cope with comedowns (as me knees were hurting at work from standing up for 9 hours every day). i only used it in the morning and it worked better than i could have imagined. at the time i started taking it i was afraid of addiction but i just never found it that moreish as higher doses were too nausea inducing to go to work on, and i never craved it later in the day.:\

for some reason if you take modest doses once a day tolerance doesnt dvelop for a very long time. if you take it all day then your tolerance will skyrocket. go figure

try lexapro 10 (escitatolipram) its even way better:D:D

i imagine its stronger but in my experience citalopram made me crave alcohol like there was no tomorro, and simply created an unemotional sense of blunt apathy which meant i didn't really know the real life reasons for my depression.

No, SSRIs like Paxil / Prozac prevent the nerotoxicity of MDMA, so they should be on it and for the depression Lexapro10,Paxil, Buspirone is good

Try to get an MDMA addict to take it consistently and you will realize it's not a very good treatment modality.

Continue mirtazepine or switch to another atypical antidepressant such as tianeptine or another tricyclic, supplement exercise daily to every other day, aerobic or resistance training. Worst case, you can try some of the MAOIs like Nardil.

Bben im wondering why you want to go down the SSRI route, i thought you were the one to bring up how it only makes mdma induced depression worse. I still get bouts of depression , and am still not as happy as i use to be since starting mdma. You should just try to hang in there dude, you know the end result with trying to get chemical induced happiness. It is NOT gonna work for the long run

Healthy diet & excercise.

Yup, doing this plus: taking vitamins, zero recreational drug use, consistent sleeping of 8-10 hours a night (no more, no less), and overall minimizing stress in one's life, whilst increasing sober recreational activities SHOULD result in a fair deal less depression.

This is an old old post haha.

I currently use 1mg suboxone and 200mg tramadol to counter my mdma induced depression and it works like a charm. I may do electroconvulsive therapy also, though i havent decided yet, it has very good efficacy for mdma induced depression, actually its the only modality with any proven success in clinical text for inducing regrowth and connection of damaged serotonergic terminals and axons. ECT induces serotonin mossy fiber and axon sprouting in the hippocampus and cortex. Pretty sweet.

For real mdma induced depression this wont help much at all, if it does then you dont have the level of mdma depression im talking about.

yep- some people want the lazy way out tho

ssri's never made my depression better, they just blunted my mood till i wasn't aware i had any feelings at all.

cut out the drugs, get a life (fun activities) and maybe some career goals so you have something positive to look forward to.

sometimes people are depressed because their situation would make anyone depressed...

I am using weed atm daily, which worked wonders in the beginning. Now i am kind of depressed but still smoking away daily, with occasional other drugs in moderation.
