great. So the only drugs that will treat my anxiety is will inevetably make my anxiety worse.
not sure how you drew this conclusion..
its not as if you take one dose of benzos and you are fucked for life being addicted and uber tolerant with even worse anxiety..
If you let yourself abuse your Rx then you could end up as above. If you take only the Rx'd dosage, only as needed, and supplement this with other methods for dealing with stress and anxiety (healthy diet, exercise, meditation, herbal tea, etc..) then there's no reason why your anxiety should get worse.
If at some point you do feel like you've become addicted to the benzos, you can talk to your doctor and many people on here about how to deal with it. There are quite a few good threads on here about tapering off of benzos. You aren't the first person to go through this. As mention above, Pregablin is an option; I know of one active member here who has used it to taper from benzos successfully and I believe is currently still using it.
I feel that you need to have a more positive outlook on your situation. I'm not a psychiatrist, but it seems to me that if you consitently take the mindset that nothing can help your anxiety then you'll find that indeed your anxiety
will get worse. As I've stated, its going to take more than drugs to help you. There's no miracle cure that just makes your anxiety go away with no ill effects. You have to do all you can to help yourself which includes taking your rx'd medication, actively talking with your doctor / psychiatrist about alternative methods and natural ways to supplement the medication to relive stress and anxiety during the day. Its not easy, but its doable. (I do it.)
