Stones - Exile on Main Street
the re-release is awesome too.
in terms of entire albums i think incubus, foo fighters and rhcp stuff rate highest for me but lately i havent heard a single album as nice to listen to on repeat as wu tang meets the indie culture. i'm not a big wu tang fan but bronze nazareth was all over the album and really painted it in a vibe that keeps me interested
yea cilvaringz is pretty dope too, i mean it's not that i listen to wu-tang meets the indie culture nowadays but when it first dropped i listened to the whole thing walking around everywhere.
i was just stuck thinking of hey when was the last time an album dropped that was fully tight? thanks to the napster and people downloading the singles few people still give a shit about hearing a full album that's not just all bangers but also has cohesion.
back before the internet (and grunge) ruined everything, a good album was one that played like chapters in a story. this is why shit like indie music gone mainstream is just a fad. sure they can put out an album full of catchy tunes but there's nothing that ties them together other than a couple of themes you'd use to describe the style with. just a bunch of pretty pieces that don't fit together
the smiths.. the queen is dead
Brian Wilson's SMiLE, is hands down, the best album of all time in my small mind.
It's perfect, in every aspect. The sound spans forty years of pop music without sounding dated or out of it's time. I can't give it enough praise... so please, just listen if you've never heard it.
that's a hard album to beat.
so good. so impossibly good.
