Hi, i would like your take on what the best aids are to help to learn faster, concentrate more etc
I did a little search and i found that Piracetam can work very well for this.
Are there better options? Does it work taken alone, and how much should i take?

a backpack full of meth and dont go to sleep until you read all the books in the library.

or eat good, sleep well, get exercise, get laid, be social, yadda yadda, travel and shit

Creatine is probably the most effective and boring one out there, the racetams tend to have rather sketchy research behind them. Not say piracetam might not work, but creatine is dirt cheap and has way more evidence behind it. As an added benefit it modestly improves your workouts too, which is something you should be doing anyways if you're concerned about your brain's health.

A multivitamin, a good diet, proper hydration, exercise, and proper sleep are going to be miles ahead of anything we have on the market right now. Modafinil, amphetamine, and methylphenidate are also popular, but they don't provide the same all around benefits as a healthy lifestyle.

Along with my wellbutrin (daily 300mg) I decided to give memtamine a shot, about 20mg's per day, and more if you wish for some recreational value.
There is some synapse that until downregulated (upregulated?) will give you brain fog for a few days, but then, it's mental clarity.

When I first experienced the clarity, I picked up my guitar and played better and more creatively, I almost felt talented!
(well, I am talented, but ADD prevents me from contracting guitar fever)

In the near future, I will be conducting research into armodafinil http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armodafinil

OH, and PS, I cut all my shit volumetrically with creatine, why? Because I had it around and It needed to be used up.
Shit mixes well with it, doesn't cling to baggies and pours easily.

Get enough sleep, live an enriched lifestyle, and eat a high-protien diet.

Yes.

Stimulants - while incredibly effective in the very short term, just aren't feasible as a permanent solution. Take it from someone who's taken Adderall nearly every single day, of every single month for past two years (never bumping up my dose of 40MG's). After a year of continual use - it barely touches me anymore.

I personally found Alpha-GPC to be an exceptional cognitive enhancer, and it stacks great with caffeine. Yohimbe extract can be great in the right dose but too much just puts the body into a tizzy and you feel too amped.

Regularly achieving a heart rate of ~145bpm throughout the day is going to be the cheapest and simplest method of enhancing cognition.

I have personally found fish oil to be a decent addition to anyone's diet. I recommend getting the equivalent of 2,000mg EPA daily (requires roughly 10 grams of fish oil). This works out to about 30% of your DV for fats, however that can be a great thing. Combined with roughly the equivalent quantity of MCT/coconut oil and you have a wonderful mix.

I'd recommend the following shake 3-4 hours after waking:
1/2 cup plain low-fat yogurt
1/2 cup 2% milk
1 cup coffee
30g whey protein isolate
14g of refined coconut oil or 10g MCT oil
no-calorie sweetener

and take 5g fish oil.

I snorted meth before an exam once and it worked pretty well.
*Edit: Just remembered, the university actually put a warning in the student newspaper specifically addressed to medical students telling them to not use speed (name for powdered methamphetamine/amphetamine here) to enhance study, so others must've had the same idea. Ritalin and modafinil are also obviously widely used, especially for subjects that are so boring that comprehensive engagement is difficult.

Here's a good Aussie doco I saw recently on just this:

Dexamphetamine increased words learned in the study by up to 30%. L-DOPA also showed this benefit but to a lesser degree. They then go into the specific neuroscience as to why this may be.

If you haven't abused it, it probably still works, you just don't notice it.

Too many people get caught up in the idea that stimulants should make you work. What they do is facilitate flow once you're already dedicated. It's only in the very early stages of use that they're a "panacea" for work. Side effects will almost inevitably build, and if they get too harsh one has to re-determine how important it is to have a stimulant.

(1st choice)--pure or nearly pure methamphetamine
methamphetamine is the KING of stimulants
be on the lookout for the dextrorotatory form (made from chiral [pseudo]ephedrine, not P2P). d-meth is what you want, although d/l-meth (racemic meth) isn't too shabby, either. l-meth is a waste of time.

(2nd choice)--high dose Adderall (mixed amphetamine salts)
Adderall is about 50% d-amp by weight. It isn't as strong as methamphetamine and doesn't last as long either, despite what wikipedia has to say about Adderall having the same 1/2 life as meth [9 hours].

(3rd choice)--methylphenidate (MPH)
methylphenidate might have placed higher were it not for its short 1/2 life, which necessitates repeated re-dosing

(4th place)--MDPV
MDPV is about as potent as methamphetamine and lasts a long time but will make you psychotic faster

(5th place)--Benzedrex inhalers (propylhexedrine)--contain benzene ring hydrogenated d/l-meth. good for concentration. 1/2 life is plenty long enough. can be had over the counter at many drugs stores (such as CVS) and grocery stores!!! costs between $4 and $7 something per 250mg. a true 'legal high.' I'm on it right now, in fact.

What not to take for studying:
1. MDMA--save this for the dance floor. it's not a good study aid.
2. cocaine--no way, will not help you pay attention and only lasts a minute or two when smoked
3. a-pvp--I've only done a gram of this and I love the way it smells and feels but, overall, it has more in common with cocaine than with the performance enhancing amphetamines
4. cathinones--inferior to amphetamines, don't last long enough, don't help you concentrate

You forgot about Concerta (long-acting methylphenidate), Dexedrine (dextroamphetamine), Vyvanse (long-acting dextroamphetamine) and Carphedon (phenylpiracetam), which has the phenethylamine backbone and gives a nice stimulation with possible memory enhancing effects.

Amphetamines are neurotoxic (all dopamine level raising stimulants are neurotoxic, because of dopamine's free radical metabolites) and Meth has other neurotoxic effects as well. Stimulants are for short-term gains, not for long-term neuroenhancement.

Hmmm, Concerta, a long lasting methylphenidate, how would that compare to Chloromethylphenidate (3,4 - CTMP) which is also a long lasting version of ritalin?

Is A-pvp illegal yet? In Canada?

It's just time release methylphenidate, so the same as regular methylphenidate just a closer duration.

I take Lions Mane mushroom extract as it promotes NGF (Nerve Growth Factor) in the brain. You can actually tell and feel the difference. Id recommend anyone to read up on the benefits:

Not the best links but Im at work, lots of studies out there if you wish to look

Thanks for this! Lion's Mane mushroom looks very interesting indeed.

How much do you take to get the noticeable effects?
