best aids to increase brainpower

Ginkgo biloba and ginseng in combination give me a natural feeling of stimulation for most of the day. The first few hours after taking it I can sit and study without getting too distracted quite easily. It feels similar to my first few times taking adderall, but less drug-like and more natural. Conclusive evidence as to their efficacy in improving cognition/memory is somewhat limited but positive in some cases. I find it works, nothing amazing, but it helps!

Thanks for this! Lion's Mane mushroom looks very interesting indeed.

How much do you take to get the noticeable effects?

I make a hot chocolate every night and put a heaped teaspoon of Lions Mane, definitely improves memory, mood and concentration to a noticeable level.

Im wondering if Lons Mane could be used as a recovery tool for people who have used MDMA?

Im not very literate when it comes to how the brain works so if one of the mods can explain what NGF actually is?

I heard that Ginko biloba vasodilatation occur only after a month of administration, so I'm a little bit puzzled by what you report.

You can definitely feel ginkgo do something after the first dose. It comes up as a feeling of clearheadedness combined with a psychedelic-like time dilation. The effects come on stronger after a few days of dosing, and then after a week or two you start feeling less from it, unless you start upping the dose. After taking it for about a month once a day I feel very little from a single dose...

We don't even really know if the vasodilation is what causes the nootrophic effect. There's some papers out there that show that chronic treatment with ginkgo extract causes increases in extracellular dopamine and noradrenaline. I think this a more likely way by which it could have a beneficial effect on cognition.

^has anyone shown that the vasodilation caused by Ginko Balboa actually affects blood flow reaching the brain? The blood vessels in the head have pretty good homeostatic mechanisms to make sure everything stays constant, even when the rest of the body goes haywire.

I would go by FDA or the equivalent of your country's in terms of safety and dose of stimulants. For the US, 60mg dextro- or mixed amphetamine salts is the max recommended dose, but some need higher doses. It's definitely not good at "increasing brain power" if you don't have some neurological deficiency already.

Every cathinone but cathine and cathinone itself hasn't been studied enough to determine toxicity. I only say the two former are safe (in moderation) because khat has been consumed for thousands of years in Somalia and Yemen.

But, law-approving, before you try the aforementioned, herbs like tulsi can help a lot.

In my experiments with Ginko Biloba, the only apparent effect (reminiscence of forgotten memories) occur after a month of treatment. You're more lucky than me hehe. Which one of us feel placebo effect? And is it that important? Don't know^^ But to asset effect from any nootropics, i think that the idea of the man in the video (aka testing our psyche with game and watch the score evolution by the time) is one of the greatest! If you know an easy game that can do that, please share it with me!

Rigorous and scientifical testing of ourself is what we need to really assess efficacy of all nootropics agents. The net is full of subjective tests who means nothing... I bet you can easily find some folk saying that piracetam bring him MDMAlike euphoria if you search enough, and the list goes on...

I'm a huge supporter of bupropion. It's done wonders for me and I never feel negative effects, other than a little chest pain when I take too much caffiene and nicotine with it.

Bupropion is good, I just popped one after 2 weeks without (bills).
If I didn't have ritalin I don't know if I could even get out of bed, or at least coped with dizzy withdrawls.

I take it for ADD, it takes care of some of the worst parts of ADD, like couch lock, depression, spaciness, etc.

As always the best answer comes from Sekio.

However there are a few compounds you should look into:
Modafinil
PNU-282,987
P7C3 (or Latrepiridine)
Idebenone
Linopiridine
Ciproxifan
Alpha-GPC
S-18986
Coluracetam
Carphedon
Semax
Selank
PRL-8-53
Org 26576
CX-1739
Unifram
(-) BPAP
Emoxypine
NSI-189
Dihexia
Uridine
Selegeline (irreversible MAOI so be careful)
Rasegeline (irreversible Mao-B inhibitor; so safer (and more effective) than ^^ but still caution should be taken)
a5IA
WAY-317,538
J147
JD-Tic
Nordextrorophan
Ladostigil (irreversible MAO-B inhibitor)
Agomelatine
Agomelatine
Physostigmine
DHEA
BIMU-8
Berberine
Agmatine
l-Theanine
Piribedil (risky-ish)
Ipidacrine
Verapamil
LY-404,187
Roflumilast
Fasoracetam

That's what I've got so far but I do need to redo my nootropic section (these are the best by the way, not just any old nootropic!). Hope this helps somewhat.
