I haven't been keeping up to date on what kids with ADD in the USA are taking for meds, but last I checked it was VERY rare for someone to be on Desoxyn around these parts. Adderall was the most common abusable and then Concerta was gaining in popularity when I finished HS. I wouldn't imagine doctors around here with the DEA and all getting trigger happy with their Desoxyn scripts.
 
^yeah i hear it's the last resort for ADD there, oh well... you can always synth your own meth if you can't get pharmaceutical grade stuff anyway :X
 
It would sure make for a good excuse in court when they bust up your meth lab

lol yeah there's not much of a methamphetamine scene down here so that is a very unlikely scenario my red phosphorous synths always yeilded shitty results too it's totally not worth it i used to get the ephedrine from a compound pharmacy lol 8(
 
I have a question.

Since amphetamines are used for ADHD medications, is it just the dopamine reuptake inhibition that is the part that "medicates" ADD/ADHD individuals or something else? I was wondering this because I got into a discussion with one of my friends about whether cocaine (which is so structurally dissimilar from amphetamines) would have the same effects on an ADHD individual as amphetamines or not.

I have read posters in this forum, i.e. Le Junk, say that "cocaine effects all individuals the same" quoted from Freud in argument against the fact that it would be different, but that was based on a quite outdated observation.

So does cocaine work similarly to ADHD medication in that respect?

As far as we know, yes. It's dopaminergic effects in the frontal lobes and nucleus accumbens that matter.

Cocaine rather dramatically effects norepi' and serotonin as well. Also, a drug that requires re-dosing every half an hour is not ideal for facilitating concentration.

+1. Bad adderall comedowns are the worst comedowns. I've done ALOT of different uppers, legal and illegal, and adderall XR gives the worst comedowns EVER. I'm talking this shit should be illegal, it feels like you're being poisoned. And to some extent, with all the l-amph and whatnot, you kinda are. :\
 
I have been known (ER) to have crushed 45-90 20 mg tabs, 6-12 at a time
add water, filter and shot. Where I get into trouble is when I end up phycotic
on the 4-5 day running and get put in the ER by freinds. I wrote my own scripts and rotated pharms
I'm talking about Ritilan IR. Cheapest of the bunch.
 
I loooove dexedrine.. i did it once every week earlier this year to get as much euphoria each time as i could :) then about 2 months ago i was resubscribed to em after a 5 month break and i developed a bit of a habit lol... now i dont feel that euphoria cuz of the tolerance :(, dexedrine is still hands down my favorite though... racemic mixtures are too speedy for me

Ritalin (methylphenidate) is like bad cocaine but it lasts longer than coke does.

DO NOT inject pills! They're not designed for that since they have binders.

I was never a fan of snorting pills so I would just take them orally. I never plugged anything.

You never plugged, you don't like snorting, you don't shoot pills even with micron filters which make it very non dangerous, you're dissing methylphenidate; you're a pussy, sorry. :|
 
Focalin > Ritalin > Dexedrine > Adderall

Yes, d-methylphenidate is my favorite for 2 reasons.

1). no jittery overly speedy feeling
2). it provides a nice calming mental stimulation that i like


(not a big fan of uppers , especially amps)

"very non-dangerous"? Please...plug and snort away, but putting non-sterile pill binders that aren't benign to the circulatory system in your veins is on another, dare I say dangerous, level.

Sorry for bringing up this old thread.. but what's a good excuse to not want Concerta anymore? So what might be specific problems with it? Stomach problems? Too short/too long duration? Okay effects at first with too little effect after the initial release has worn off?

I'm from Germany, so we do have alternative extended-release pills (Equasym retard, Medikinet retard) which are just a capsule with the methylphenidate inside (the long-release stuff probably covered in wax, they are the same as the US Metadate (10, 20 and 30mg dose) and probably easier to snort/abuse. Pricing of Concerta might also be an argument, but I don't know if the doctor would buy that.

So how do I convince my doctor to give me something like this instead of Concerta? Getting instant release here in Germany as an adult is nearly impossible..
