Best Action Sequence Ever

Well.. Man on Fire is reallllly good. I think the best sequence is when he takes down the motorcade with the RPG, walks through, and guns everyone down.
 
I like all the choices, but i gotta give it up to Jackie Chan, basically anyone of his movies has sick action sequences, esp. in First Strike, when he's in like 10 foot stilts kicking people in the face, there's so many more, i could go on forever. I love JACKIE.
 
IMHO

  • Neo vs. Smith final battle in Matrix Revolutions
  • Band of Brothers - the 'Bastogne' episode
  • Kill Bill scene with Vivica Fox and Uma in the house
  • Final scene in Scarface "Say hello - to my little friend!"
  • Saving Private Ryan - the Omaha beach scene
  • The Bourne Identity car chase
  • Terminator 2 shootout at the Skynet Building
  • The Lord of the Rings - ROTK: Battle at Minas Tirith (sp?)
 
Though this may seem a little odd, mine would have to be a toss-up between the "falling" battle between Gandalf and the balrog in "The Two Towers", and the climatic final battle in "Aliens."
 
A lot of the battle scenes from the Lord Of the Rings trilogy had me sitting wide-eyed on the edge of my seat as well.

When I first saw the Balrog I was literally shivering.

Im surprised no one has mentioned the main street gun battle scene from HEAT, I bought the DVD just for that scene... not the movie itself;)

I also think Car chases / car sequences could possibly have a different thread? (if there isn't one already? I haven't checked)

my vote has to go to the last half hour or so of the Matrix, starting from when Trinity and Neo go into the federal building to save Morpheus.

the pacing from then on is just intense - the battle in the lobby, then the cool bullet-time scene on the roof, helicopter rescue and crash. Then Neo battles Agent Smith in the subway, and finally the last scene when Neo realizes he is the One.

I still remember sitting in the theater and thinking, holy shit, this is the coolest thing I have ever seen.

LOTR:TFOTR-The prequel battle when Gil-Galad and Elendil lead the Alliance of Elves and Men against Sauron

LOTR:T2T-The Battle of Helms Deep

LOTR:TROK-The Battle @ Minis Tirith

Commando-When Arnold first gets on the Island, its just classic

Leon The Professional-The beginning when Leon pulls off his hit on the guys doin the drug deal

I can really think of anymore off the top of my head right now
 
the fight scene from the end of kill bill is just ridiculous. action yes, good action...well, too over the top.
my vote goes for the chase in ronin.
 
Most of the scenes in Iron Monkey. Especially the end,when thy're fighting on the flaming bamboo. The freeway scence in Matrix:Reloaded. Also,the trailer fight in Kill Bill V2.

i love the sequence in 'the fifth element' where they're escaping from fhloston: the diva concert; leeloo fighting the mangalores; the battle in the lobby; etc.

according to the imdb trivia for the movie, the explosion in the fhloston main hall was the largest indoor explosion ever filmed.

Back to the thread: best action sequence: Kill Bill Part 1. when Uma Thurman starts the fight against Lucy Lui and her army in the hotel...then the final battle between them is hot! I love that movie. I need to see Part 2.:\
