Bernie Sanders

That's too bad . It would have been entertaining. These debates are all show and no substance. Trump would have looked ok.. only HRC would have looked bad bc she refuses to debate. And when she does, she screeches and talks down to everyone.

Just serves to show what a weasel-spawned homunculus Trump truly is. He refuses to debate because he knows his nonsense will wither before the dialectical might of Sanders.

Trump looks like a total wimp now. He should have just gone through with it. #ChickenTrump was the #1 trending hashtag in the country all day yesterday lmao.

Bob Arum offered to donate $20 million to the charity of Trump's choice to host the debate and he still backed down. Considering his entire shtick is being Mr. Macho Man America, that's going to hurt his stature among his supporters.

Meanwhile, the move was a stroke of brilliance by Bernie even if the debate doesn't happen. It got massive amounts of media coverage for him 10 days before the California primary and now it looks to everyone like both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are afraid to debate Bernie. Not a good look for two candidates who are considered the clear frontrunners of the race. It's not just "refusing to debate Bernie." It's both of them saying they would and then backing out.

BLM/Bernie supporters trying to stop free speech at Depaul Uni. Milo Yiannopoulos on his dangerous faggot tour, dude is hilarious imo.

He's a well known troll, he makes money like Ann Coulter does behaving like the dumbest bigoted caricature of a right wing loony toon. I'm not going to watch that whole thing but I'm going to guess BLM/Bernie supporters part is bullshit. BLM protested against bernie.

I wonder if he's even going to debate Hillary when she mostly likely wins now. He's only debated on a stage full of mostly incompetent people. Never one on one.

I still have the concern that Donald Trump doesn't even intend on being president he's trying to throw the race for Hillary. We all know he's been friends with the Clintons for decades. They were at his wedding.

When he says stuff like he did the other day, thay he's going to cut funding for climate change research, you have to wonder. Even the biggest climate change deniers in the Republican party would never say something like that. Lucky so far, it hasn't mattered. The more outrageous and stupid shit he says the stronger his support has gotten.

Are you refering to the comment "there is no drought in California?" Because comments like that are meant to win over farmers which are a powerful political faction in California. They tend to vote for a candidate on only one issue like 2nd Amendment voters. California has been undergoing a drought for 5 years and now millions of acres of farmland uare unused. The farmers want the state to release more water into irrigation at the expense of endangered wetlands. If they see that he is on their side versus the environment, they will vote for him.

The dude seems like an idiot, but the more you investigate his noted remarks the more you wonder just how calculated his words are.

He is shrewd and knows how to connect with people. Having the votes of California farmers could make the difference in that state. It is a mistake to assume he's stupid, no matter how poorly informed he might appear on some issues.

I bet trump wanted nothing more than to debate him, but his advisors strongly were against it due to the fact that he had little to gain and a lot to lose. If he had and successfully teed up Bernie support even more than it could of been a positive for both. Sanders is done unless Hilary is indicted and how Biden declines to run IMO. The guy would be a perfect leader for a Scandinavian country or Canada just not America.

Nothing to gain? Debating Bernie Sanders after he said he would was probably the smartest thing Trump could have possibly done this entire race. It

1) Would have made Hillary look terrible for refusing to debate Bernie while Trump would.

2) Would have raised $10-$10 million instantly for a women's-issues charity, a demographic that Trump has been getting destroyed with. I can't think of anything that could have a better chance to boost his numbers among women voters.

3) Would have given him by far his best opportunity to try and win over Bernie supporters, which he'd need to defeat Clinton in November. Since he had nothing to gain by being hostile towards Bernie, he could have made it his most civil and respectful debate yet, stressing what they have in common and instead railing on how terrible Hillary Clinton is. Name a single opportunity this entire race that would have given him a more direct platform to speak to millions of Democrats that have never watched a single Trump rally or Republican debate.

Trump had FAR more to gain than lose by debating Bernie. The only reason to back out, especially after he said he'd do it, is because he and his staff were afraid Bernie would embarrass him on national TV.

How can these two sentences follow one another, though?

He had everything to gain, to prove that he could handle key concepts of politics, economics, foreign and domestic policy, social issues etc, more effectively than a "socialist". And you're right, he sure did have a lot to lose. Besides, since when does Trump listen to anyone? Trump is Trump, he does what he wants when he wants, remember? He straight up chickened out of this one. Sanders isn't lopping softballs at him like Megan Kelly.

Even trump knew he would of put his foot in his mouth and further polarized the insane Bernie supporter opposition movement going on outside of trumps rallies. Trump isn't very good with restraint I bet he would of mocked him at some point. Trust me in theory it could of been good for trump but the chances of it going the optimal way were slim to none. Bernie had everything to gain as it would further legitimize his failed attempt at candidacy. I'd like to see Bernie ask his supporters to stop attacking trump supporters, vandalizing, and causing overall mayhem in an attempt to quell free speech. I got news for you cupcakes this ain't your women's studies class. First amendment applies to all

So basically, knowing that he has not yet properly studied the material, Sanders would have grilled him. No joke or outrageous comment could have kept him from looking bad.
