Bernie Sanders

Yeah life sucks in the states due to the policies created by our government. Even the healthcare reform is way far away from being beneficial. Doesn't everyone deserve a right to be healthy? Because of the way it was written it has allowed "job creators" to make many jobs part time, or eliminate them altogether. Part of the Affordable Care Act should have penalized corporations for putting profits, and the shareholder's interests above their workers. Most of these corporations can afford healthcare and to pay their employees better if they just slimmed down the golden parachutes, high levels of pay for executives, and insanely huge bonuses for said executives. This is what I hope the whole financial inequality conversation brings up. I know if bernie is elected then this may be part of his platform.

Just finished voting for Bernie. Felt good.
Good job.

From a different country, I can see your options are limited.

Obviously, it looks like it will be between Hillary and Trump.

Then, when election comes around, many of those votes will be likely just to make sure that the other doesn't get voted in, rather than an endorsement of the candidate.

What a sham of democracy the election process has become in USA

This is true. We need some other political parties. The GOP and Democrats have become bloated and corrupt. If there is less choices, the choices tend to be bad.

In dalton Georgia on the 75 there is a giant bill board that is all black with white letters and it says Donald trump make America great again. You can tell it was not made by the trump campaign lol. At this point I am praying he wins of not only for the sake of the scotus. The prefect scenario for him is Bernie getting really close and not getting it disenfranchising all of his voters and trump simply not murdering or raping anyone b/t now and the election. I like him more and more him being more socially liberal and only concerned about the economy. Time to end the world jobs program we have going, get a bit isolationist, and rebuild our military/exonomy!

Yup, Nevada was the cream on the shitcake. The DNC has made it so I will never ever vote for Hillary. They're really fooling themselves if they're thinking "well so many Hillary supporters said they would never vote for Obama" it's a totally different election and Trump has that "outsider" status that Bernie does so I can see how many will be swayed by him or vote third party instead (as I am doing.

They're plan is basically to say "C'mon it's Trump, you don't want that evil fuck Trump to destroy America do you?" Which is a good plan I guess, if it was 2008. Count me out I'm tired of voting for the lesser of two evils and having guilt crammed down my throat. It's not my problem if Trump wins, I wash my hands of it.

"Rebuild" our military? They get most of the funding now anyways the "entitlements" people get barely make a crack in our economy. Trumps tax plan will take money away from the poor and middle class and give it to the rich like GWB did. At least with Bernie you get something in exchange.

And while I agree we should end free trade deals it's not that simple a lot of those jobs have been automated and are never coming back, even lowering the minimum wage to pennies would only be a bandaid; corporations are going to automate in the end no matter what and many many jobs will never come back. And it really is different this time than in the past because the machines can either operate and fix themselves or are so specializes that the job market to operate and fix them will be minuscule.

I'm only curious what Trump will do to shit America to death since he's running things based on his own ego, I already know what Hillary will do.

Also, as to why socialism and people like Bernie never take off I feel this is relevant:

Great quote from a good author. Always hard to wrap my mind around this one.

If you compare expensive, healthy mother diet/baby formula to poor person mother diet/baby formula you can see that poor children are being held back from the beginning. This is just one factor of many in which the poor will never catch up (missing building blocks in crucial developmental phases) unless they are truly exceptional, and in that case had they been properly nourished just how exceptional could they have been?

"Rebuild" our military?
of course. right-leaners blab on about how crucial it is to have a small government and reduce public spending. but they have absolutely no problem if it's being spent on the military. what is the saying? "republicans want a large military, and to keep it home; democrats want a small military, and to send it everywhere"?

Socialism never took off in America because we learned from history with the millions of people it killed off. It has never worked why would it all the sudden work now? Democratic socialism only works in Scandinavian countries because they are more apt to accept mediocrity. If there was a way to lobotomize entire populations effectively taking out the human condition then MAYBE it would work just maybe socialism in America would work.

in my opinion, oppressive, violent regimes which kill or incarcerate people because of their political believes cannot be called "socialist"... and I believe that facism has as many victims as all the corrupted communist regimes of the past (and present).

Yes it's a case of "history is written by the winners" those "socialist" regimes weren't even socialist, but communist. We don't hear about the crimes and blood of capitalism because it just gets swept under individuals doing it and its the status quo. That scary land of Canada is certain to go down as the bloodiest nation in history any day now...

What's funny is the troll above is ignoring FDR and the gilded age... we already have many socialist policies and this country was a huge toilet before them.

While people like him suck off the invisible cock of the invisible hand jerking off the rich, unthinkable amounts of people suffer everyday just to line the pockets of the rich.

You know, sometimes when people talk, depending on what they say, it can be like they're shitting out of their mouths.

This is the same except you've typed it rather than said it.

Mediocrity...lobotomies....you got a mirror?

Things need to be put through a "socialist" net. Everything we are taxed for... Roadways, other infrastructure, it's all "socialist". Social security is socialist. This perceived opposition of social-ism and capital-ism (or whatever) is just not true.

What I mean by things need to be put through a socialist net... Simply, everything that is done should be done with the health, and sustainability of society (and environment) in mind. We spend so much on war in this country/military, yet people go without healthcare.

I also think the way to deter nuclear threats is building better relationships with the world, and a more open dialog and willingness to forgive and opt for understanding instead of "punishment" of sanctions and condemnation. All we are doing with the strong hand is creating desperate situations/people. This also might be a result of a kind of tyranny that continues under the radar, in the clothes of countries... Of "business".

I don't really know. I just know that times change, and what may not have worked at one time, one way, there might be a way for it.

I think you're getting at the form of mediocrity that is known as Jante's Law. It's a form of conformity and inefficiency that is believed to plague Scandanavian countries and US states like Minnesota where a lot of SCandanavians settled. Some schools are run this way too. Everyone is assigned to the same class, no matter what their ability or mental disability. The smart, focused students are punished along with the Ree-Tee or kid with ADD or fetal alcohol syndrone because that kid just couldn't shut up when the teacher was talking. As a result, everyone loses interest and motivation to work to the best of their ability.
The ten rules state:

You're not to think you are anything special.
You're not to think you are as good as we are.
You're not to think you are smarter than we are.
You're not to convince yourself that you are better than we are.
You're not to think you know more than we do.
You're not to think you are more important than we are.
You're not to think you are good at anything.
You're not to laugh at us.
You're not to think anyone cares about you.
You're not to think you can teach us anything.
America as a whole has a completely different view of hard work and excellence than this view of Scandanavian countries. In America, the exceptional are often rewarded and I don't think this is incompatible with the socialist policies SAnders talks about.
