Hey! I have been a long term benzo user (xanax, klonopin, lorazepam) and developed a moderate tolerance

However, I recently came across some Oxycontin (40mg). Im not very experience when it comes to opiates. Only did vicodin once, barely enough to get me high. So I was wondering as a first time OC user how much should I take to get high? And will my benzo tolerance affect my OC high?

There is absolutely no cross tolerance for benzos and opiates/opioids. If you have an Oxycontin 40mg then this is a long acting form of oxycodone that slowly releases 40mg of it over approx 9 to 12 hours. If it is an oxycodone immediate release 40mg then you are going to be hot with 40 mg all at once and this will be way too much for someone with no tolerance so you need to look it up and be very sure of which you have as many people use the names interchangeably.

Technically the Oxycontin (extended release) form is not to be broken into pieces though it can be done. Taking the whole thing may or may not be enough to make you not feel well (nausea, vomiting, etc) as it would probably be a little too much.

If it is the IR form then I would cut the pill in half and then half again. This would be 10mg for each quarter and I would start with one quarter and see how you feel. Just remember you can always take more..but once you take too much you can't "Untake" it. Start low and go slow...always.
