So I suffer from OCD and GAD. I need some mesication to deal With this and fuck ssris. How can I get benzos prescribed? Copping off the street is a bitch

Bluelight isn't here to help you get drugs.

You can get it prescribed by going to a psychiatrist.

This. Also, I turned down my SSRI my doctor offered me and stuck with the Ativan he prescribed me.
Do a little research. Benzos are probably the easiest thing to get a legit script for.

If you have legitimate mental health issues then you will have no problem achieving what it is you seek, should you consult the correct place. Bluelight is not here to schedule psychiatric appointments, we aren't here to provide free or any healthcare that we are not even qualified to give, You are new here so for the last time, please read the BLUA (Bluelight User Agreement) and the OD Forum Guidelines, both of these links can be found in my signature, and they clearly state what the mission of Bluelight is, and even more specifically, we have laid out the rules in a nicely formatted, color coded and organized in a way that should answer any and all FAQs regarding what subject matter belongs here in Other Drugs (A Harm Reduction Focus Forum) and what material doesn't belong in OD because it's forbidden / off-limits, and common sense can solve 90% or more of any doubts one may encounter when he or she is reviewing their post prior to submission so that he or she can
-A ) organize their post into nice, legible, civil paragraphs,
-B ) come up with an accurate title that will help you and others when it comes time to be sure that you
-C) used the forum search engine before you create a new thread. This gives you the chance to check for any spelling or grammatical errors, add clarifications or details relevant to your question/discussion. While doing so, you will get a sense of whether your material is, or is not appropriate for the forum one is about to post in.

So for example, this thread, titled "benzos or gtfo" never stood a chance from the start, since the title is so vague and was only clear enough to me that, sure enough, you created this thread asking for advice on how to get prescribed a controlled substance because you have mental health issues.

Once you've reviewed the BLUA and OD guidelines, you'll have a much clearer understanding regarding the closure of this thread. It's pretty simple, we do not allow how-do-I-get-prescribed-XXXXXX type threads, since this information can be used to scam / manipulate doctors by addicts abusing the information just like they do the drug, which makes it harder for people with actual medical conditions to get prescribed the medications that they need.

Also, I must say, your "benzo or gtfo" attitude will screw you over big time if your taking them for GAD and OCD.... Those are not generally conditions that patients benefit from benzodiazepine monotherapy, in fact most of the time it's a recipe for disaster that can lead to worsened rebound anxiety, insomnia, and exacerbation of obsessive compulsive behavior.

I'll be straight with you, your attitude is going to ruin you. You know why? Because in this country, benzodiazepines are handed out like candy, and so the chances of you getting RX'd a benzodiazepine are very high regardless of whether it is actually adding more risk than it is benefits in the long-term. Benzodiazepines are prescribed and should be taken STRICTLY as needed for OCD, and I would strongly advise against treating your GAD with benzodiazepines. I tried that for years and when I finally managed to get off the alprazolam,

I felt 10 steps back from where I had initially stood when I first began benzodiazepine therapy. It may have taken me 10 years of hell and agonizing dependency to finally have arrived at this conclusion, but make of it what you will, its just my $0.02.

Benzodiazepines are incredible at relieving anxiety. They are also incredible at relieving you of any other way of coping with the stresses and anxiety that are a part of every day life. I learned more about myself, coping, my anxiety, depression, insomnia, and my underlying conditions in the first few months while I was completely clean off benzos, than I did in like... 10 years of benzodiazepine therapy. Taking pills won't address your underlying conditions, particularly benzodiazepines of all pills. They are like, the universal bandaid for gunshot wounds, and unfortunately, they are so damned effective (at first) that most people rapidly become dependent and their entire mindset changes until they reach the point to where they truly believe that there is no life without the medication, that it is impossible for you to function, that you need your prescription because you have anxiety. And yeah, no one is doubting that you have anxiety, but I'm emphatically doubting your proposed treatment strategy, since it really is not a treatment strategy at all, its merely benzodiazepine monotherapy.

I've heard of people that share your dual diagnosis of GAD/OCD who report benefiting substantially more from either A) the right dose of the right antidepressant, B) the right dose of the right antipsychotic (Olanzepine, trade name Zyprexa, in particular, is one that I've heard is rather effective) C) CBT / therapy with a trained psychologist. and of course, the best way is D) a combination of all of the above as directed by a qualified mental healthcare professional.
