How do they effect oxy withdrawal? What are the most effective kinds of benzos and at which amounts for someone with a >100mg/day oxy addiction and almost no benzo tolerance. I know I don't want to get addicted to benzos instead but I've been doing 1mg Ativan for a year and have had very little issues stopping, even at higher doses, but opiates are a whole different story for me.

Any help in info is appreciated. Thanks.

Benzos aren't going to decrease the actual withdrawals, but they can help with some of the side effects - namely anxiety, sleep problems, etc.

Taking benzos for a year can't be doing you good though.. are you sure you're OK stopping them? Definitely worth taking a look at your benzo intake after you get over the opi problems.

I will tell you for a fact a whole ton of xanax and valium helped me get through a 130-200~mg oxymorphone (opana) intranasal habit (or roughly 400-500mg oxycodone).

They certainly won't make you feel like you would with sub or the other, but they do help you forget the awful experience.

Be sure not to switch one addiction for another - talk to your health professional.

You've been taking 1 mg Ativan daily for a year with few issues stopping? If I am right, I would take 1 mg Ativan every six hours, but at bedtime 3 mg, not 1 mg. So, 1 mg, 1 mg, 1 mg, 3 mg (for sleep) and repeat. That is 6 mg Ativan a day. Only keep on this schedule for maybe 5 or 6 days, 1 week tops, and then get back to your normal amount.

yeah benzos help opiate w/d. maybe also try some otc promethazine it's really good for helping ya sleep. it's a weak antipychotic & also a sedating antihistamine

Chainer really could not have said it better. Benzos work differently than opiates so it might alleviate the symtoms benzos normally treat like anxiety, sleeplessness, etc. But not the icky feeling of when your body is like WTF why are my mU receptors shitty -.- and trying to re-create a homeostasis. And really make sure you dont trade one thing for anything, thats a nasty road to go down. I thought benzo wd was around 2-3x worse after an extended use period of around a year. You should really try a Subutex or Suboxone detox. But do talk to a health pro and listen to what they have to say.

After taking around 100mg hydrocodone daily for around 7 months , I did a 4 day treatment on buprenorphine, and suffered zero w/d's , and didnt even miss any work . I would not recommend anyone taking buprenorphine for a single day longer than this .
