I'm 21 and I’ve been diagnosed with insomnia and severe anxiety by a physiatrist. I did a few sessions with a psychologist but it didn't really get anywhere and I moved cities after my 3rd session. I've been to numerous GP's and I've explained my situation and they've prescribed me stillnox, temazepan (one off scripts) or anti-depressants (which I never took because I take MDMA occasionally and other personal reasons). Anyway it was nothing long term which obviously hasn't fixed the problem. Since then I've given up and started self-medicating on Clonanzapam which is like a wonder-drug for me. Helps with sleep and anxiety, of course I'd rather get legitimate script for it or something similar as I know it’s more of an epileptic drug in Aus rather than anxiety. If I told my new GP all of this (I've now moved to a new area) would he prescribe me something long term or send me to a psychologist.

My GP prescribes me diazepam for GAD and SAD after I was diagnosed with these disorders by a pyschiatrist. I am also seeing a psychologist regularly and using CBT and other relaxation methods. Be careful using benzos exclusively for your problems, they will not help in the long run, often they will just make matters much worse once tolerance and dependance set in.

Every GP is different, but don't go in and straight out ask for a benzodiazepine. Consult with your GP and let him decide the course of action, if you don't like how you are being treated, seek a second or third opinion.

Use them sparingly and they can be a great tool to help you with exposure and such, but if you rely on them daily you're going to end up in a much worse position. Find a psychologist who you find comfortable to talk to, or whose methods seem to help for you. There's no quick fix.

The above advice is good advice. Unfortunately we are not here to tell you how to get prescribed controlled drugs and it goes against the rules to do so, as a result that doesn't leave me with much choice other than to close this.

You might want to try out some antidepressants, I have never used them myself but have known some people to find them incredibly effective. If your problems are bad enough to warrant risking benzo addiction then don't you think that perhaps you could abstain from MDMA for a while and see if some of the other options out there are helpful to you.

Good luck sorting your issues mate but you are going to have to figure out how to get benzo's on your own.
