Benzos Benzo's don't work

the thing about these equivalency charts is that they're not exact science, just a rough guideline. people react differently to any dose of any given substance. in my experience maybe 3mgs or so.

It is tolerance, perhaps permanent in how fast it will spike up from a few uses even after a long long break. Be thankful you do not feel horrible w/d after a period of benzo and opiate abuse, and quit while you are ahead. Unless you want to make it your mission in life to always stay high.

I'm not sure if you read the rest of the thread, but may I direct your attention to post #19. I did get withdrawals from it and have to go the hospital more than once. I also took strong, faster acting benzo's when I had low to no tolerance, without any effect. I'm also a recovering opiate addict, so... preaching is not necessary

So I took 15mg. Nothing. I didn't do anything stupid, didn't blackout, didn't feel relaxed, didn't even get tired.

I'm not a lot different. I just too 18 mg Klonopins. For the first time too. Or vitually, I was prescribed a little glass for restless muscles by my doctor as a teenager.

As you say, there was no high, no blackout, and nothing appoaching losing control of myself. I did experience strong relaxation and was comfortable, and slept very well, but that's all. Taking more definitely doesn't change anything. I first took 3 then moved it up to 9 but felt no change. Makes them seem pretty safe though (for me anyway).

I didn't really feel anything but sedation the first time I tried Valium either. Only thing I've ever had some kind of high on and was quite fun was Ropypnol, but those aren't around anymore. My Gaba receptors must be pretty crappy. Even Lyrica, which used to get me crazy high at first, after a long break I felt NOTHING on. That might be a contribution, too, that I destroyed my responsiveness even more with my Lyrica use, which hits those receptors much harder.

Hm well alcohol does potential benzo. Im not recommending people take bezos and alcohol even though I love that combo. But you might want to try some alc in moderate amounts with th benzo. It should at least give minor recreational value.

I just feel that benzodiazepine's are not recreational, or at least not in the way that opiates, stims, etc are. I hear that you have a lot of experience with benzodiazepine's, but what you describe (being able to take 15mg with no effect) doesn't shock me. For a long time I really didn't know what benzo's were even supposed to feel like. I would take multiple bars of Xanax with little tolerance and wait for something to happen, and the only thing that seemed to occur was amnesia. I eventually seemed to find something I liked in Xanax because I know I kept taking them, but with clonazepam, I couldn't for the life of me differentiate the effects from that of a sugar pill.

After about 1 year and change of benzo abstinence I picked them up again and all of a sudden I seemed to understand what the "buzz" everyone talked of was about. Benzo's are super subtle, most likely their just not your thing. I would also (not to act as if your naive, just in case you don't know) avoid taking such a large dose even one time, especially if you are no longer Dependant. I've known people that have done similar things (taken a shitload of benzo "X" for one day) and had a seizure the following day.

Benzodiazepines are not recreational IMO. They are tools, not toys. I don't know how many times I've said those exact words.

I agree with the alprazolam > clonazepam too, although my body could not distinguish it from a breath mint, rather than a sugar pill ;)

I never said I was looking for recreational value per say (although I do have like 500mg(!) lying around somewhere, so I wish I did) but they don't even work as tools. BUT when they were IV'd even 2mg of diazapam it felt soooo nice. Not opiate nice, but still, better than nothing. Either way, people obviously love their benzo's, I know a lot of people who pound xanax, 'specially college kids... xandy bars!

Far out finally I've found someone who agrees with me! I thought I was the only one who found little to no recreational value in benzos. They just make me a bit drowsy (sometimes) and that's it.

Can someone who enjoys benzos please explain why they're appealling>?

Getting benzo'd out is a phase that a lot of college kids go though. I don't think that anyone particularly enjoys it, but they rather just like getting blackout drunk to forget about everything, which usually leads to forgetting everything.

Um..... :?

Alc + Benzo = black out express... It's a great way to get a shit ton of voicemails and text messages the next morning saying things like "wtf, how dare you!" or "I can't believe you did that" or "We're through" or winding up in a hospital. Even a little alcohol + benzo's for me (where benzo's don't work unless IV'd medically, and taken for the neurological aspect) makes me make bad decisions, like take more benzos and drink more alcohol... and what I just said ensues.

i'd say that alcohol and benzodiazepines are easily the drugs i'm most experienced with. and yet when i mix the two things may go right, but usually they go wrong. i don't get blackouts that often anymore but more often than not i wish that i did. alcohol and benzodiazepines are a shit combination if there ever was one.

Sorry, what I wanted to ask what is the equivalent of 1 mg CLONAZEPAM in Etizolam?

it's highly dependent on your response to both clonazepam and etizolam. but the rule of thumb seems to be 0.5mgs clonazepam = 1mg etizolam.

So it's twice the strength then. Wow, that explains while two 2 mg Clonazepam was so effective compared to four Etizolam. Can hardly feel the Etizolam anymore.
