Do benzos cause dementia? I've read they do and they dont. Which one is it?

This has always been a concern of mine, seeing as I took them for 14 years. Benzos have never actually been approved for long-term use, which is a bit scary to me as far as the dementia thing.
But since they've never really been studied for long-term side-effects (to my knowledge), I don't think anyone is 100% certain either way.

Yes, it's possible. Usually problems occur in the elderly and long-time users...I guess most people on BL are too young to tell you.
