Just remember anger passes. You get more mileage with children by yelling abruptly to stop the bad behaviour in its tracks....then sitting them down and discussing why its bad. Also, I believe that on the other hand, kids should be rewarded for good behavior. Like if they do well all week, take time to make a special dessert for a family dinner(include children in making it)...family dinner is also extremely beneficial. It is a great forum to openly discuss how everyone is doing.
I can't stress it enough that if you find yourself getting angry just take a giant step back and think about how much you love your children. Anger passes. Love takes a long time to fade.
A strange place to submit such a post, no? I mean, the titular discussion is about benzodiazepines, and none of your recommendations are feasible or realistic for the person that uses benzodiazepines recreationally.
The family's dinner table is the last place I would sit and the worst place I could participate in a candid, "open discussion" about anything whilst acutely addlepated and severely sloshed.
Seriously, I'll probably awaken the day after, either:
A.) Wondering what I could have possibly said and/or donet o have the whole household either sneering, snickering, scoffing, sniveling, stonewalling, or simpering with every coup d'oeil in my direction.
B. Abashed and overwrought with consternation, as I failed to take a sufficiently amnesiac dose of the benzodiazepines, thus left having a relatively intact and true recollection of all the blunders, foibles, debacles, calamities, catastrophes, incorrigible faux pas, social gaucheries and inelegance, improprieties, callous truths and caustic contumelies, and overall tactlessness and lack of grace.
Socially disinhibiting drugs are not to be used judiciously in the presence of a sober audience. Whether drunk off booze or grotesquely gorked from a gallimaufry of other GABAergics, seclusion is one's sole recourse, lest one publicly shames themselves—more especial, in the presence of guests and family.
