I can only tell you from my experience, and it was not pretty. I was an opiate addict on methadone, a full blown alcoholic who drank from waking to falling asleep, and also had a stupidly high benzo tolerance, I would take around 4-6MG of alprazolam a day.
One time I had just received my Xanax through the post and already had a fair few beers. I remember the feeling of the Xanax working, enjoying it so taking another bar. This is when things get hazy- my friend said I kept going to my room and I must have been redosing without realising I was doing it.
I blacked out for 3 whole days and my friend and my Mum had to look after me. Worse thing was we was trying to sell the house and had a viewing, apparently the couple who come round thought I was disabled as I was trying to google something but could not. They said to my Mum how much of a nice boy I was, they must have meant this in a nice way thinking I had some form of disability.
Anyway, when I was back from the blackout days later all 25 of the Xanax apart from 1 half a bar were gone. I must have forgotten that I had dosed where I was already in a blackout so just kept dosing with the tablets.
I really was lucky not to have died with that mixture, and apparently could still walk, albeit very badly. My friend had the bright idea that to help sober me up she would get some cocaine for me. I must have met the dealers as the next time I saw them (2 girls were the runners) they said to me "you was so funny the other day" and laughing about what I was doing. I have no idea what I did, but I must have been a stumbling wreck.
Where I am going with this is be very careful- compulsive redosing is a thing and if you were to forget you have already redosed like me you could end up in a very bad situation. I was lucky just to black out for this long and not end up in hospital, arrested, or dead.
