Hey friends, I was wondering if you guys knew of any extremely potent medications that are just as effective or preferably more effective at treating crippling anxiety. These can be controlled substances, non controlled substances, alternative medicine/supplements, or what have you. I'm currently taking .5 mg of klonopin and it's nowhere near enough and I'm scared to death of running out since I have major anxiety and co-morbid depressive disorder so any help at all would be appreciated! Thank you guys.
You have gabapentin which is fantastic which is kind of a benzo. When I take it I take 1 800 usually, in the past i've taken 2400 or 3200 with no issues. You gotta find the correct dosage for you. It works on gaba obviously.
Another alternative, is Amanita Muscaria. Now amanitas are complicated, you have to find a good source, a head shop is not that. If you want just pure benzo effects, you need either pure muscimal, or you need to heat the mushroom long enough so that it all the ibotenic acid into muscimal. A lot of the horror stories you read are from people just munching them without preparing them correctly. It can take hours of boiling. You can sometimes find pure muscimal for a good price. You have to be very careful, if you take too much you'll be time looping for a few thousand years. Taking correctly though, it's superior to benzos. It works on the gaba receptors just like a benzo, but, it doesn't cause dependence. You can use Amanitas to get off benzos and eliminate or reduce the withdrawals. The effect is long lasting to, think of it like a methadone for benzos, but with no withdrawals itself. Not many people know this.
I would also recommend taking vitamin D daily. People with anxiety tend to stay indoors all the time, even if you go outside it's still likely you have low vitamin D. When it gets low enough, you will feel like death, you cannot have good mental health and have low vitamin D levels. Trust me on that, and it takes a long time to build those levels back up. If you have the extra money go get your levels tested, youll see. It might take a few weeks to see improvement.
If you take it sparingly, benadryl can do the trick nicely, 50-75mg has a surprisingly enjoyable anxiety relieving effect if you can get past the drowsiness. These effects go away after regular use really quickly though.
I wouldn't mess with barbituates, they are worse to come off than benzos.
Chamomile is kind of alright, it has light gaba activity I believe.
Lavender combined with skullcap (there are two types of skullcap I can't remember which it is), I can't remember the specifics, but the linalool
does something significant to the ndma and gaba receptors, and can "activate" certain herbs and other things.
Ketamine is easy to get for depression and anxiety and works extremely well, however long term abuse will cause you problems and it can be extremely mentally addictive, possibly more than anything else. If you have good self control this can work.
But honestly, I would recommend just trying to deal with the anxiety and weaning off, benzos are the absolute worst thing you could be addicted to, and you're trading a normal amount of anxiety now for 1000x worse anxiety later and the duration could be years or permanent. I honestly think benzos are the one substance that should never be prescribed. If you're terrified to run out, you should be terrified of perpetual withdrawals (while youre still taking it). I suffer from the same thing, and it's never fun to hear, but vitamins, diet, and exercise have a drastic effect on anxiety. It could be caused by a food intolerance, it could be something simple, I would suggest trying to find the root cause and dealing with it directly. Benzos are just not sustainable, and once you're hooked you're kind of fucked for life potentially unless you're willing to go through hell for a VERY long time, it could take 5 years, sometimes more. I'm not trying to scare you, I just want you to know what you're really getting into. If people knew they would never take them. Please research withdrawals on youtube and decide for yourself if it's worth it. You're at the most important crossroad of your life, stay safe.
